Suzuki sx4 has a electric steering setup. no steering box. i think its like steer by wire!!
I only had one quick head scratching look and moved on so i have no more info. maybe worth a look tho
certainly the difference between lhd. and rhd. is only inside the cabin. no steering shaft sticks through the firewall.

In other news

Hubs and rear bearings back from the machinists and now half reinstalled. The rear bearing normally bolts in from the back on a later evo but on mine they have been modified to bolt through the front.

All back together with the ARP studs

Some mods were also required on the front caliper bracket as the pad hung over the edge of the rotor by a couple of mm, they are now installed and lock wired in for the last time.

Rear lower control arms are now also fitted up after the spacers for the bottom of the strut had been machined down a touch

Starting to get to the point where a few things are going in for the final time with lock wire etc.

Im getting rid of a lot of spring washers in favour of the lock wire, can then cut the bolt down more too :P

It has to be done for the racefab arms, there is no room to fit the bolts in from the back, the flats also need to be machined on the front of the bearing too so they pull down evenly. Some people wouldnt bother but I wanted to so I know its right.

I am looking at the racefab arms at the moment. Would the machining need to be done for everyone or is it the way you have some items?

I would definitely recommend having the bolt holes machined flat so that the bolt pulls down square on the bearing face.
All of the arms bolt through the front like mine as there is no room to clear the shaft otherwise.

My switch tower is coming along, I just need to transfer all of the buttons and switches from the alloy plate to the carbon one now.

rear end was finally assembled today, hubs fitted and lock wired in, rear brakes fitted and lock wired also.

I did a rough wheel alignment to point the wheels forwards too, the amount of adjustment I have now is huge

today a bit more stuff done, cooler pipes back on after the ceramic coating, front guards and bar are back on to work out the headlight covers.
Surge tank back in and the main fuel tank tested (leak found :( )

I also modified the stock bonnet vents to work with the side vents by opening them up a little more to increase air flow

This is one EPIC build George. I've been drooling over this on here for some time now. I have a couple of questions mate:
1: going by the rule changes to wta are u going to run pro-class. And do u have to get an invite?
2: if you have to add more weight do u have plans for full length undercar aero( ground effects)
3: if you run pro class are u going to add more aero bits on the car

Hey mate

The plan is to move up to pro-am, that is inbetween open and pro but runs pro rules.
If I ran open I would have to run minimum aero and add about 60kgs to the car which I dont really want to do.

The decesion to run pro am was made so that i could run the car to its full potential.
This allows me to run a full undertray and maximum aero parts which will bring it up to the minimum weight I have to run in
pro-am anyway (944kgs) It also allows me to run a lexan front window.

I still have the roof and rear 1/4 panels to shed weight from to so may still have to balast up a bit.
Due to only running a 255 wide tyre I need the car to be as light as possible.
