Make sure you mount the battery directly to the floor of the car (ie don't just secure the battery box to the car and the battery to the box). It's also a good idea to vent the battery box to the pressure vent on the side of the car.

There is no room in the box to secure the battery .. It is almost the same size as the box .. About 1-2mm (if that) from the inside dimensions .. So, have secured the MDF to the floor, then use the battery box tie down secured to MDF, and then a couple of screws in the bottom of the battery box into the mdf ...

I think the Titanium exhaused is the X-Force one ... I will double check for you today ...

As for measurements, I made a cardboard cut out as a rough guide, and then cut that into the wood, and went from there... As the cardboard has some flex to it (had noting in the spare wheel arch to make the boot totally flat), it was a little oversize... but only took a couple of minutes to trim up, and put in properly .. Don't know if posting the template would work .. And given it has arches around the wheel arch, not sure how to put that on paper...

If you were in Sydney, I would let ya borrow it, or make an exact trace of my floor ...

Hmm ... Maybe I should do a group buy and cut up some flooring for people and post it out ...

SICK. I just got a black AVCR and need to put it in the VIII when I have time.
Looks pretty neat man.

I got the same boost gauge but black, really works well with the GSR dash.
It's like exactly the same font/style.

Although mine sometimes gets stuck for some reason when I start the car, stays on 0 for 30s or so, then drops to ~-0.7, don't know why, its always done that since I got it.

Hmm... That's odd.. Yeah, a love the Apexi gauges.. I am kind of over the white face.. But what can you do..

All in all, they are a great unit.. And I like the blue/purple colour it has at night...

Thanks mate ... Not sure if I posted the Sonata pics when I did it to that years ago ... But yeah, loved the connivence of it ... Plus, it can also display speed .. So you get a digital speedo to boot ... Heehe ..

Only problem is now hearing that you are not allowed to have them as you can change the performance from the cabin .. I may have to look at hiding it ... Was thinking if that is the case, I get new vents, and mount it behind them ... So that they can cover the AVC-R when I park, or get pulled over by the cops... But will see how I go ...

Industrial strength velcro ftw. I just velcro mine to a little bracket when I drive or am using it, then when I want to chuck it in the glovebox I just rip it off. No mess, no fuss.

Hi all,

I can't seem to find any of my other build threads ... Have searched through all topics started by me, but it comes up blank ... I haven't been around this site a lot, since the change from Team 4G ... But yeah, if someone knows where my thread went .. Well feel free to link it ...

Bit of background on the car, or the history ...

I firsthad a Hyundai Sonata (1997 Y3 Model), which I converted to Evo engine ... It was almost a direct fit, and I managed to get it up to 316hp at the wheels .. This was running 20psi and the old FWD was not really taking the power too well ...

So I bought a wrecked GSR, and started the restoration ... It is still a work in progress, but it is getting there ...

Anyway, I thought I would show you all what I have been working on with the interior ... So I have finished the back to bare metal re-spray, and now full re-trim .. Only gotta do a new rocker cover, and tune ... Stereo, and she is done ...

The interior was done in all black marine suede .. With blue stitching to match the Recaro seats... Everything plastic has been done, including the scuff panels at the bottom of the door ... All work was completed by my mate, who has his own business...

So yeah, just some idea's for anyone looking at doing something similar...

are you going to get the gauge pod done too?

I have a mate that does trimming too, i have had my dash done in black marine suede with double stitch but my stitch line is different from yours.

I didn't go all out and do door trims, and all plastics, but i did have the a, b, c piller and roof lining done in doe skin suede, just little changes..

i miss you ride thread, i was watching it waiting for the return of the twin wastegate manifold and expecting the big power increases..

love to see a rehash of the old thread. ;)

When I was shopping around, Pro Stitch wanted to charge me around 8k ... This was doing exactly what I had done ... Roof, parcel shelf, door trims, carpet, dash, A + B + C pillar and all centre console...

My mate did all that and more ... He even made up the fibreglass pods to hold my splits front and rear ... And was not happy with the existing parcel shelf so he did a new one ... All in all, the total job would be around 4 to 4.5k depending on the car ... But yeah, obviously cheaper if he doesn't have to do the dash and what not ...

I got it done at Elite Custom Interiors ... Out at Rockdale ... Their Facebook page is http://www.facebook....rs/160167125449

Hehehe .. There is always the cardomain site... www.cardomain.com/id/rock_it ... But yeah, the car is going good ... Still haven't tuned it as yet ... I want to sell off the EMS 8860 ECU and put in the Haltech.... Then it is tune time ...

I did do a dyno run .. Car was in current state... And running about 10psi ... Power curve wasn't too bad, but you could see where all the timing was dumped out .. She still managed to pull 145kw at all 4 ... So good as a starting point ...

I have to find someone that can do sandblasting ... so I can get all the shit off my new modified rocker cover, and then get powder coated...

Looks good. I got my dash suede wrapped with the twin-stich but kept it all black.
