It took me a few goes on the freeway, but mine is spot on.
regards the gear.
the gear is only to make the odo correct. And if you are making everything perfect this is the first step. Run car for a measured 10km and compare the odo to the actual. Correct that first.
then fix the speedo. There is 2 adjustments. The spring tension and the needle position. The tension adjusts the rate of increase. So if speedo is correct at 50, 5km slow at 100 and 10km slow at 150, you reduce tension in spring to allow needle to rise faster. Then reposition needle to show correct numbers.
its not that really required, so needle position at 100 is usually enough for most of us.
Considering that all you did was remove needle, thats all you need to fix.
The only other way you can do it easily is mark something, so you can get the needles on and off in the same spots. That can work on the fuel and temp, bit harder on the others.

Yeah, I think you can actually buy a cog, that alters the variance. So if you see you constantly have 5%, you buy a certain size, install it, and presto ...
But yeah, I will research when the time comes... I hate wiring shit up ... So am dreading that part ... But has to be done ... So may have to call in a mate to do that bit...
Its two wires Craig..positive and negative!

The invertor has a few more..
But how do I find the wire to tap so they turn on with headlights?
Just out it in, and think I have adjusted the needles.. Speed seems good, and Revs seem spot on.
Temp was pretty easy, but fuel was a PIA. Had it adjusted, but when I out it all back together, the fuel would shoot up from just under 1/4 to over half. Would adjust, start and run the car.. All was good.. Out glass over it.. Good, put the black fascia back in, bang, back up..
Think it is good now.. Just gotta wire it..

While I was there I fixed up the GSM pager, and got that working again..
This was the gauge reading when first in.. I guess I was not as careful as I thought with the needles..
Lolz!

Wire it to the old dash lights wire. You will have trouble with the dimmer if the lights are led (i think the are- jamo?) As led just turn off below a certain voltage. You could change the dimmer to a pwm, but that may be a guru job if you getting scared already.
A pwm switches lights on/off really fast so they just appear dimmer.

ebay item^ that would suit dash lights. $3 with a remote knob...maybe the factory dash knob could work the pwm but not sure.

I wired mine to one of the illuminated switch wires nearby.

Soooo...
Two wires.. 1 will go to the same wire that the headlight switch goes to. The other to a ground.
Is the other 2 wires with the metal connector to another ground?

The destructions call it a stabiliser.. Doesn't say to ground it..
So will look at pulling off the dimmer switch and maybe wire to that?
Does the surround around the dimmer just pull out? Or is it bolted/screwed from behind the dash?
