I checked Mikey's old conversion pics and his is done the same way. The factory FWD captive plates in the back of the coupes have to be removed and the AWD ones put in their place. Theres no way both will fit at once Here's some better pics I took of the back of your car today

LOL no one told us about them plates... i ended up drillin them out and popped them right out 1st 1 was a CNT the 2nd 1 was easy

yeh mike, had to remove those fucken plates. they were a C$NT to remove without hacking up the chassis rail!

yeh mikey left me a mess to weld up lol

ok just some up dates on mikey's car

i welded the floor in today and it all fitted in with no problame at all tomorrow ill be doing some grinding and putting some more tacks on the floor and fitting the diff and cradle so i can roll it in and out so i can clean the shed.anyways here's some pictures

yeh put some more tacks on here and there and should be going together providing the nuts & bolts are all there lol
young dave was around helping me today and he loved getting his hands dirty he's keen to AWD the GTi now lol
i think he was keen to help so he could get away from the missus lol

There's about half a dozen or so of us close mates/family and we all give eachother a helping hand Sometimes there might be up to 4 of us working on the same car at once. That's what it's all about right there Baz... getting together with a common passion Plus everytime we get together you're guaranteed a good laugh Whether its ripping eachother off or other people off, laughing at eachother's misfortunes (ahem, Frankie cracking the shits and punching a tyre and breaking his knuckles), telling funny stories, or helping out to learn something new, we enjoy eachother's company and get on really well. Many hands make light work too I can honestly say that I can rely on any of them to give me a helping hand whenever I need it (just that I cant rely on some of them to turn up at the time they said they would!!! ahem! Mik-e!!! lol)

Few more updates

Floor is in and welded up, just finished the Sikaflex 227 on the underside, just goto do the top and then chassis blck the underside, get rid of the deadener and sand down the interior, prime then paint black so she looks like new
