sorry for the late reply.
We drove my brothers HJ Galant (2L V6, cant remeber the engine code, 6A12 perhaps?), so yeh not a 4G...
We made it to falls on the friday with no issues (driving from adelaide), but then 20 minutes into the trip on the way home the car died due to a screwed ignition coil.
We were somewhere between falls and deans marsh. Ended up getting towed to lorne. I caught a bus/train/cab to avalon and flew home, and my brother stayed with the car in lorne for 4 days till it was repaired (and $640 later).
It was a bit of an adventure (and the reason why i didnt want to take my gsr)

I hate my V6 Galant (Yep its a 6A12) too... I've spent like $2500 in 12 months trying to get it sorted, and now the gearbox is shagged!! Another $2500 just for that!!!
