Right now drugs are at a crossroad... Either we take their illegal use more seriously, and enforce a heftier penalty on offenders [ such as jail time ], or we empathise with the substance and their following and legalise, regulate and moderate their legal manufacture and distribution.
The latter would see jobs created, the minimalisation of shitty pills out there [ and there's heaaaaaps ], and an overall safer clubbing community. I mean, we all know smoking and drinking is responsible for the deaths of Australians... so it'd would be hypocritical to state that "party" drugs are just too dangerous. Consuming of drugs can result in injury or death due to their poor manufacture, the use of shitty ingredients and a lack of personal threshold/overall drug knowledge of the taker.
I can certainly see why conservative -and older- people would frown upon such a proposal. It's also worth noting that if this notion was followed, a new tax would, too.
well said!
have a look at amsterdam for example... they're drug situation has worked out very well for them.
