I would love a shortened shifter with the raised pivot point, but for the immediate future I need bushes from Mitsubishi. I've replaced some before, and they were only $2.04 each or something minor, but these where the upper ones.

Has anyone replaced these with brass ones? I'm leaning towards nylon standard again, but just seeing what other's have done..

Also, has anyone replaced the rubber boot with something more interesting? Is there something out there with the square base that slots in for ours? or a cover that could fit the standard boot?

I've got brass shift bushings in now, but the car won't be on the road for a few months! So can't really say anything :(

Wow, that's very neat. I assume u took the whole console out, and fitted it? There's no signs from the outside.

Nice.

Yeah the brass shifter bushings from meek are pretty nice.. my car has them, and the car feels very clicky and direct gear to gear.. much more so than my 300zx.

I bought the upper 2 or 4 bushes about 4 years ago from Mitsubishi Mt Gravatt when I was living in QLD. The parts were about, $1.96 each..

Today I went to Mistsubishi in Belconnen in ACT and the same part is now $19.95 - and I actually saw that price come up..

It get's better, the rubber boot is now $100 and is only in Japan.. the actual console just for a laugh.. $590! lol

What has everyone else done? The meek items, what did they actually replace in the shifter? There are 2 "seats" (bushings) at the lower of the shifter that I think need replacing in mine too.

I might have to rip it out this weekend, and sus it out. Take some pics too..
