yeh man they are rs gt rims and yeh i do need a lip but am glad i dont have one as i would have mangled it by now.
anyway bit of an update sorted out the cars boost probs and i have fitted a 20g turbo upgrade had the car on the dyno today and it is running way too rich with air fuels around the low 11s which is robbing heaps of power so now the car is needing a full tune anyway it did however make 182 kw at all fours which my mechanic says will easily make around the 215kw + mark when its fully tuned anyway other than that im really enjoying the car its so much fun too drive and turns heads where ever i go

ok update from me havent been able to tune the car yet due too the ecu being locked, so i have to pull it out and send it away to get unlocked also the car has a bad exhaust manifold leak and will only hit 16psi. but i still managed to get to the strip and run a 12.7 at 106 mph which im wrapped about so once every thing is sorted it should go low 12s maybe even dip into the 11s anyway thats my rant

anyway update on the evo it is now tuned to 18psi and has made 184.7kw but will be getting more boost soon and i will have it down the strip this weekend weather permiting. im really happy with how its performing at the moment. and hopefully next year it should have a good chance at running 11s but we will see how it goes this weekend first.

ok fresh update even though i dont think anyone reads this or cares but ohwell. anyway took the car to the drags last night and ran a 12.4 at 109mph. now im fairly impressed by this time but i know it still has more in it, so now the prob i am facing is that the car is in 4th gear on the limiter about 10m before the finish line. so i put this question out to those in the know should i short shift into 5th gear in search of more speed? as at the moment the limiter is set at 7200rpm and i dont want to go any higher. any comments will be most helpfull

cheers

Hey dude, I know a guy in NZ had the same issue, he changed to 3.545 gearing, and it made a massive difference.....

He had an EVO 1 RS and went from low 12's to 11.7 by changing the gears

Here's the thread- but NZMMC seems to be having problems at the moment, so you might have to check it later.

12.4@109 is still a good time (especially in the townsville heat in summer!) but no doubt it can go faster :D

good time  :D

leave it in 4th you will just go to the limiter unless you change to 3.5 GSR gears

Nice work there Tim, especially on the Townsville track :P

I reckon you let it rev out just a little bit more in 2nd/3rd say 250-500RPM and see what happens.

What were you revving to by the way?

Rick has to change into 5th near the line in his Evo1 RS too :(

You using your cooler spray at all?

If so change the water to metho and see what happens

I have 8L of the stuff if you want it

On 19 PSI(as per your sms ) is good in our heat/humidity.

Id say wait till closer to our winter :P say april/may then get a re-tune for 22psi.

On a 20G It would be good to see a flat 12 maybe a high 11.

Lee ran 12 flat on a 16g@ 25psi keeping in mind his forged rebuild....

Come over and say hi before you go back to work too

hey fellas thanks for all the positive feedback. i will definatly look into the gearing issue but think i will look into fixing up a few other things first. like the standard intercooler i dont feel that it is efficiant enough up here in the heat so im looking into something a little bigger.

hey dane my car doesnt have a water spray its got the part where the switch goes but thats about it, was probobly pulled out when it was a track car. and yeh i dont go back out to the mine til the 8th off jan so will deffinatly catch up.

thanks fellas will deffinatly try and go better again in the new year when its cooler
