Ripped off by Wotif.com???

Now I know that wotif.com are just the middle man in all of this but I'm annoyed with them because I think the onus is on them to ensure the accuracy of descriptions of the accommodation they're selling on their site. I realise they can't send some wotif rep out to inspect every ad, but when it all turns to shit shouldn't they take some responsibility? or make some effort to right the wrong?
Opinions?

In a nutshell I booked accommodation that was advertised as 4.5 stars, newly refurbed and have a king size bed. The place turned out to be a complete shithole with a Queen sized bed.

there's nothing worse that getting scammed for accomodation. ive had a similar thing happen to me.
i'd at least hit them up, if they're advertising 4.5 *'s then thats what you should be getting. Its their responisibilty, and at the end of the day, their advertising it, and if it doesnt turn out to be what they say it is, then thats false advertising

they may be able to do something for you and may change their ad so that others dont have to go through the same situation...

I agree exactly ... And if that don't work, go to the department of fair trading and dob em in, so they don't rip off someone else ...

one of their terms is they are not responsible for anything
the hotels claim or do.
i agree it really sucks and shouldnt have happened but im not sure how you will go.
i had trouble with a hotel i booked through wotif a while ago regarding parking at the hotel, they were not really much help.
