haha, what's up lads
I've been busy for the last few months between work and buying a house and shit, so the nugget has been a bit neglected. Not much in the way of updates .. I rewired the engine bay while I had no licence, and it's all running again, I just don't get a lot of time to drive it these days.
I'm getting back into it now, but I've gotta pull my finger out and pull the box for a rebuild, and change the clutch while it's out. I should have a new surge tank for it next week, so it'll be nice to drive it again without the car stinking of fuel.
After seeing Jacob's awesome results, I'm thinking about putting a 35R on it for kicks .. a mate has a spare one lying around with a 66mm front wheel, so when I get a spare weekend I'll probably bolt that one and see what sort of power it can make.
Nothing else has changed and I do still love you all

ohhh so the quietness wasnt because you were working on the car keeping it under wraps - you actually had a legitimate reason for it
Yeah Anthony, the guy's silver GSR that was at MM, recently ended up bringing it home with 427hp @ 24psi on the GT3076. Thats pretty much the same power as you were making with a similar setup on the same turbo. I remember you had the GT3082 which could make a little bit more, but that GT35R sounds the go. When you get a chance to whack it on dont forget to let us know the results . Its good to hear from you man

Naaa... Anthony's is a 2 litre silver GSR with AR-619 plates. Here's a vid: http://www.youtube.c...s/9/rX8s6SbAW-8 and several pics: http://orion2001.gal....net.au/Anthony
That was last year and since has gotten a custom steampipe manifiold made up. Mick's getting some pretty good results with the GT3076R's and I immediately thought of you after Anthony's tune the other day.

Clutch is all changed, not gonna bother rebuilding the box at the moment, since I'm sure to break it once the 35R goes on. I was gonna put the turbo on today, but was missing one of the brackets that holds the comp cover on, so I'll do that next weekend.

Looks like you're pretty busy with it mate. What type of clutch are you going to use?

Same clutch bud, it's got an OS giken twin plate - I just replaced the plates in it.
I've been pretty impressed with this clutch overall - it's done about 40000 kilometres (half with 400+ hp atw), countless launches, some track days, and god only knows how much abuse on the street, and it was still in pretty good shape when we pulled it apart. The front plate could've been reused it was that good, and the mid-plate, flywheel and back-plate were all pretty much perfect aside from some heat spots.
They're a bit pricey, but new plates aren't too bad - definitely worth the money IMO.
I was gonna change the turbo today too, but one of the clamps that holds the comp housing on was missing, so that'll have to wait until next weekend. I'll probably order some 1450cc injectors during the week as well as another 044 in preparation for some real boost

Nice... so you're giving E85 a try eh? Definitely keen to see some results as havent seen or heard much of anyone with a 4G63T and GT35R on the stuff yet. Is Mick going to be doing the tuning this time around or are you going to go to someone else

Yup, gonna have a play with E85, only for the track really as it's availability is pretty scarce out my way. I'll probably use the "lab quality" shit you can buy in drums (same stuff they use in the V8 Supercars) rather than getting it from the pump.
I think I'll switch back to the 3076 pretty quickly after playing silly buggers with the 35R .. it's primarily a street car, so I think the smaler turbo is a better choice.
And yeah, it'll be back to Mick .. had a chat with him about it today, he's pretty keen to get his hands on it again lol.

Kool stuff. Good to see you're still playing with it and trying new things (I think you'll really like unleashing 35R on E85 especially when you pass the 400kw+ mark )

Spent today putting the new (well, second-hand) turbo in. It had a 1.06 housing on it, so I changed that over to a 0.82 and bolted it up. It's not a straight GT3582R as garrett sell, the compressor wheel has a 66mm inducer which I think is off a T04Z. I believe it's pretty much the same turbo Rob Barac used on his lancer when he was running 9s (but with a smaller rear).
I swapped the turbo from underneath the car rather than pulling the exhaust manifold off this time around, and I'm really not sure it was any easier this way. It was a pain in the arse getting the water fittings off (had to pull the bolts that hold the compressor and exhaust housings out to get enough room to swing a spanner) in order to get to the last bolt on the t3 flange. I think next time I'll just pull the exhaust manifold out lol.
It's not quite all back together. I need a gasket for the dump pipe and one for the oil return before I can bolt the exhaust up, and I'll have to get a new silicon bend for the turbo outlet, as the outlet on the GT35R is larger than the GT3037. I'll pick those up this week and have it running next weekend.
The two turbos side by side .. it doesn't look that much bigger lol
