Why would a professional tuner be using 2 year old fuel.....Thats just stupid.

well, if you must know, he shouldn't have even been working on my car, he came in to work on his holidays so he could finish a few things without being interrupted. It was 6pm by the time the car was even ready for the dyno .... this was Christmas eve too mind you.

I was there when it went on the dyno, and believe me, i just wanted to see what the thing would put out, regardless how old the fuel was. Henceforth why it was only run on stock boost .... and had 1 run only. No detonation/pinging or any problems at all (apart from the oil leaks)..

once the cyclones are operational, and its got some fresh 98RON fuel, it'll be tuned on 21psi - with any luck, that may have already happened

CD9A gauges are now for sale,

as I have got me some EVO 9 ones :)

Posted Image

Car is ALLLLLLLMOST ready too, that timing belt issue has now been rectified, It was coming off the gears because the workshop that installed the EVO mount had used the wrong sized bolts, and the arm that holds the tensioner pulley was sezied.

Going back on the dyno this arvo. :)

then I still have to get a RWC and rego :P

PS - does anyone have a "good" (read: dodgy) contact for RWCs ?

Car made

177 kw on 15psi

204 kw on 20psi

The cyclone actuator still not hooked up, so should be a little bit more power hiding there. Thats getting sorted today.

Injectors were at 65% duty on the 20 psi ...

On another note, that ARC box is sitting right behind the thermofan, which is supplying it with some nice 70 degree air :? Ill have to do something about that too.....

That looks awesome! Good luck with the RWC! how does the air box work? Does it just suck the air from near the fuse box?

yeah, nice 70 degree air  (i need to change it)

As for the inner guard linings, Nick has lent me them too... I owe him big time

Got the RWC today no dramas at all. Also got a temp permit from vicroads to drive it to and from workshops ... so got to drive it back home from dandy this afyernoon (and have some fun with a R33 GTR on the way :P )

I managed to blow the wastegate actuator arm off the wastegate in the process though, which meant no boost and an anxious drive back home. All fixed now.

So cars back home, Vicroads next week. Hopefully everything goes ok.

Well I've had a fun packed couple of days....

Cops have been round to my house twice because of my fuckwit neighbours complaining (the illegal immigrants next door). Mind you, this is a 1pm in the afternoon, after my car had been idling in the driveway for no longer than 10 minutes, both yesterday and today. WTF??? GIVE ME A FRIGGEN BREAK.

Last night I thought id give installing these gauges a go and ran out of time, but mucked about with a fair bit of [important] wiring behind the dash. This morning after Id changed a few things over to be vicroads friendly went to start the car and all I got was a retarded alarm siren and clicking inside the dash (where id been mucking around :? )

so after bashing my head against the dash for 2 hours and contemplating canceling my vicroads meeting tomorrow, I called a buddy of mine with a multimeter (i reaaaaallly need to get one of these) who came round and found my battery to be dead flat.

which was good news! I thought id rooted something... ended up replacing it with a Dry cell Pulse battery.

so anyway, ive managed to put in the gauges, but not wire them up yet. The loom plug I require I suspect has been cut off when the stereo went in (before I owned the car) which is a bastard. On top of that, the Evo8 gauges dont bolt up like the E3 ones do, so ive used a stereo DIN sleave instead, which turned out pretty good I reckon :P I moved the stereo down, and put the gauges in the top DIN spot, to make them easier to view.

and yes I know I need a new head unit !

Vicroads tomorrow, fingers crossed.

Small update -

car is having some downtime after the main bracket of the JayRacing alternator relocation kit decided to break. Ive since been in contact with them, and they were very apologetic and more than happy to send out a replacement.

Luckily I have another kit here to swap the part over with.

Dre and Barry, I don't think you will have the same problem, as the bracket in question has been redesigned and made stronger (there have been a few similar cases to mine)

Ive also split the passenger side inner drive shaft boot, which subsequently sprayed nice dirty grease all over my engine bay, and the passenger side drive shaft seal on the Xfercase is also leaking blue alien blood all over my garage floor

So car is getting towed back to Springy next Wednesday, to fix the aforementioned issues, and also to finally put the EVO7 recaros in. The gearbox oil will be changed to the Redline MTL/MT-90 combo as recommended too.

After that, the car will be going to TRIKFAB to get a new Cat back exhaust and revised intake and cold side cooler pipes. Once this has been done the new Rocker cover and catch can can be fitted up.

Ive also been collecting a few bits and pieces, new EVO3 rear upper and lower Toe arms (thanks George), Ralliart Diff bushes (4), Ralliart trailing arm bushes, Greddy Type R BOV (to be installed when piping gets revised). Some Enkei tarmacs are on their way over from Japan too (thanks to the eagle eyes of Dre :P ).

a new intake manifold, t/b set-up is on the cards too.

Once these things have been all sorted, it will be time for paint. :)

the passenger side drive shaft seal on the Xfercase is also leaking blue alien blood all over my garage floor

The above is quite common problem when useing the vr4 passanger side engine mount modded to suit the CC chassis as it doesn't align the engine to the drive shafts like the evo mounts, its not much out, but ive seen this alot untill a evo 1-3 passanger side engine mount is used the problem dissapeares with it.

i did have the VR4 mount there for a while, never while the car was running though, although I would understand if the seal had been fucked out by excessive driveshaft angle seeing the car was sitting at CREATD for over 3 weeks with no passenger side engine mount :?

I now have the EVO mount (installed before the ECU got put in) but I rekcon the damage has already been done. The new seal has been put in now so hopefully no more leaky leaky 8)

All leaks are fixed, EVO3 rear suspension arms are in. Oil temp sender for gauges is in. Recaros are in!

Got a ralliart gearknob for my Bday, and im just waiting on a new momo steering wheel now to finish the interior off. :) I might get some HKS kansai floor mats from japan too.

The rseats match the E2 door trims nicely!

Posted Image
Posted Image

Now the car has to go to TRIKFAB for some piping/intake revisions and installation of the Typr R BOV, plus a new cat back exhaust that will hopefully be a lot quieter than my current one. Then the rocker cover and catch can go back on, and then once thats done its time for paint!
