im not sure if its because my suspension is too stiff, or perhaps too much heat, but I think theres a flaw in the design somewhere, the tensioner rod for this kit has pillow balls at each end, which once tightened, still allow the whole alternator assembly to vibrate - I think this is why this bottom bracket keeps breaking.
What other alternator relocation kits are there?

replacement bracket has arrived, Jay made me one out of alloy steel this time, not billet aluminium. Its a fair bit heavier than the original one, but its supposed be a hell of a lot stronger too.....
I also got me a fluidampr harmonic balancer to rule the current one out as a suspect for these breakages....
Ill be back in action by the ned of the week.
drags anyone

Steel is a more elastic metal than aluminium, aluminium is quite brittle..... So im hoping to not have any further dramas in the near future... :?
In theory

Next time out ill drop the tire pressures, and have the launch control enabled on the SM4.

Im getting the launch control feature and flat shift feature enabled on the SM4, as well as a race map done on C16 race gas next week.
Im going to take out all the sound deadener in the car soon as well (with some CLuTZ dry ice know-how ).
There has to be an 11 second 1/4 hiding within this current setup surely. Once ive achieved that, the new turbo will get installed, and then we'll be playing a different ballgame - and my nice orange rocker cover can get installed finally, along with some 272/272s, crower gears, Toda belt and some other goodies.
Ive also picked up some EVO 3 firewall/strut tower bracing and rear V-brace from Andrew @ CVAP too - that will get installed when the shell is stripped and prepped for a complete respray 8)
also posted some vids from the w/end's racing on youtube
enjoy 8)

115mph is enough for 11s as it is mate.
You'll be able to run a 1.7 flat (a 1.6 isn't out of the question by any means) to the 60' with your current power which will drop your ET considerably - just need to experiment with your launches to get it off the line.
The best thing you can do is turn on logging on the SM4 and check each of your runs to find out exactly what's happening. You might find you're changing to early, or that you're falling off boost after a gear change, or sitting on the limiter is unloading everything at the top of first. Once you can start checking that, you can figure out exactly how to drive the car faster.
Give that a go before you go cheating with C16
I was actually wondering the other day if I could use the logging feature to somehow improve/monitor whats going on... I thought it was more for circuit work than anything else.
Thanks for the pointers though, much appreciated! The launch side of things definitely needs some attention

Ive trucked the car to Springy, and Dan is fitting the turbo and associated oter goodies. At this stage it looks like the turbo will fit with some minor mods to the wastegate setup, and the FP dump pipe will most likely have to be ditched and a new one made up, as it doesnt clear the alluminium radiator - but oh well, such is life hey?
hopefully the car wil be back at TRIKFAB by the weekend.

Full I/C piping?
You still have your cold side pipe, are you not using that anymore?
What about the exhaust, what did you run previously?
Are you getting a full exhaust made up?
What was the radiator worth? If that doesn't clear the dump, why not sell the radiator and get a custom radiator made instead by Darren?
How much was the dump pipe?
New IC piping.
Im not so keen on the dump pipe, neither is Darren. Id rather him make up a new one that has the wastegate return plumbed in later down the dump, away from the turbo, and at a less obtrusive angle than the way it is now. It will also fit the way everything is set up now.
Darren will be making a full exhaust for me as well, im ditching that hideous canon and getting a magnaflow oval muffler with pie cut drop tip.
