I have a fairly low-tec setup at my house, 2x Technics 1200 Mk2 and a Technics 1210 Mk5 to do the duties, along with a Stanton SMX-501 3 channel mixer. I dont use CD's, and never will. Maybe Rane Serato, one day
I have a pair of Alesis monitors for sound duties (awesome for how cheap they are) and a Creative PC speaker (there was 2 but my dog ate it ) and sub as booth monitors, cheap and effective
I've played at a handfull of clubs and bars around Melbourne, but will never consider myself a "DJ" as such. I'll leave that up to guys like GSRSOL

I've done some r n b mixed cds and DJ for friends and family functions. I don't really do it so much now that I am busy so my charge out rate is sky high. I will have to DJ my sister's wedding next year. doh!

When I was about 16 I went through a phase where I was into dj'ing, A friend had his own DJ business so he was showing me how to mix and he also happened to have a late night dance and R&B show on community radio, In which I was a "special guest"
I helped him out making a couple of commercials for the sponsors of his show, It was fun, but scary when someone recognised my voice then said "you sound alot older"
I was too poor to afford a set of decks, By the time I could, he had already trained up someone else, and that guy went on to running the radio show, eventually he went on to becoming a well known sydney rave party DJ.
It could've been me
I since gave up and found a new hobby, car's. And it's been going on for the past 10 years.
I still like to go over my mates place and have a muck around on his decks. He thinks I still have the knack.

I own and run my own business, which supplies DJs to venues and private functions and events. I do it full time - so to speak ....
I have regular gigs most nights of the week every week, and also guest spots here and there, at clubs and also on the radio, mainly KISSfm.
Personally I love west coast & Chicago style US house. But around town I play Electro, Commercial, and minimalistic styles, as well as RnB/Hip Hop and also Retro at some places.
I make new commercial and electro promo mixes every month if anybody is interested

Ive got 2x technics 1200mk2's and a Vestax PMC-06 PROA
havnt had em at my joint for a while now because they are setup with my mates decks ( 2x Vestax PDX-2000 and some stanton mixer) and we just jam every chance we get, also hook up my mates SERATO whenever we get the chance, serato is great stuff.
Mostly get into hip-hop and really into oldschool funk, soul, breaks , love to get our scratch on, currently working on a DMC set which is going to be un-veiled when i stop changing shit lol been at it for about 2 years now...still havnt cum up with a DJ name lol

I was at the DMC's last week, supporting my mate, DJ Danny Cool.
I rekon he was one of the best- was the only one who actually used hip hop 12's, the rest just used battlewax which I thought was pretty lame/boring.
The DMC's are totally rigged though
