Well thanks for the replies but i've decided to purchase another silver Galant GSR and swap over the guards, bonnet, doors and boot. The cars only done 16X,000 kms, so i'm also going to look at swapping the carpet and tons of the interior parts that are old/missing.
This way I can bang all of the old and crusty parts back onto the shell with the good N/A 4G63 and gearbox, and flog it off on ebay, even if I only get $500 for it, i'll still be updating my car both outside and in, for $850. Seems like a good idea if you ask me!
I have a number thanks to funkyG that i'm going to call to get the rear 1/4 panels and roof re-sprayed along with an Eterna ZR4 grille and "fingers crosses" an Eterna ZR4 rear bumper, from AJAI.
I'll make sure to take before and after pics when its all completed!!
Now, all I need are those facelift ZR4 tail lights, boot garnishes and spolier!!
thanks again for all your replies

The 4G63 motor code is street shorthand for dominance. It's automotive Darwinism.

hey bro, looks good- im about to go through the same ordeal, painting the rear quarters of my galant, as ive just swapped panels over and it looks ghetto having mint doors, and rooted rear quarters:
What did you use to sand back the paint? Did you go bare metal or just sand the clearcoat off? How many coats did you do? Any clearcoats?
Any tips/hints appreciated, cos im about to do the same thing

I was a bit ruff and used (wet/dry 400) then sprayputty primer then (wet/dry 1200)
then light coat of normal primer then paint
I was almost tempted to paint the C73A in black primer and go to a both and spray it jet black
just practice on shit car first
