Brackets for a 3000gt brake upgrade have turned up. Just chasing a set of calipers to send off to craig to get powder coated the same as my rocker cover. I'll get the rears done at the same time and probably the rotor hats. I'm going for slotted rotors all round and not sure on which pads to run yet.
I'll have to get the full set of calipers rebuilt once Craig is done with them. Any suggestions on who to get to rebuild them? Ball park figure presuming the pistons and bore is ok in the calipers?
I've got a couple of Evo III lips on their way and i think i'll get a new front bar from Ralliart. Got quoted $510 without shipping for the main shell which sounds reasonable.
Steve from Advanced Jap has been awesome chasing me up a few parts. The list at the moment is:
Genuine rear pods
Genuine side skirts
Geniune bootlid and spoiler
Coilovers
3000GT Calipers
And Steve is also going to fabricate a custom intake pipe for the ARC airbox repositoned to where the battery usually sits.

It'll be okay for show cars, but not track / street cars..
Might be better just to paint them with hi temp stuff

I think paint will be the best way to go with your calipers anyway.
Good luck with the EPA!

There are rebuild kits available. Racebrakes in melbourne said they could rebuild them depending on how worn they are.
Next i want to look at upgrading my rears to a twin pot setup!

I was thinking about going for maybe a pair of skyline or sti rear twin pots. They run oposing pistons like the gto fronts. And they look better too i reckon!

you dont need crazy offsets if you buy a decent set of wheelshurm sounds like fun, but spacer and crazy offsets would be an issue....

A few guys in the states have used the gto/3000gt twin pot rear brakes. They look a little like the gsr fronts.

skyline calipers would be great except they do not have a handbrake setup on the caliper, they have a drum handbrake.

I thought that might have been the case. I'll do some investigating in the next few weeks and see if i can find something that might work. Maybe some later model evo brembos might work.
Not really many other updates other than i got my epa issue sorted with the help of a pee shooter muffler and a bit of jayrome's magic.
Not sure how much i'm going to be able to get done before the drag day with a few drinking sessions booked in for the next few week ends but i'll try and play around with a couple of things in my very brief sober moments. I'll update with pics as soon as i get my arse into gear.

Still haven't had a chance to sort it out. Been way too flat out organizing work stuff lately! Hopefully when I get back to Vic in about 7 weeks I might have a few more $$$ to throw at her. I'm thinking 272 Cams whilst i've got the timing belt off, cam gears etc.
do it!!!!!
