It's not yellow plated, it's not legit.... Simple. I dont even think it has a REPV. SO...

 

 

Really? Why's that? I have owned a 6T9REP facelift VR4 and EVO 1 and they were more legit than the one yellow plate I owned.

The rumour of how "RS2" started I heard was when the TME's came to Australia. They were supposedly based on the RS but with air conditioning, not climate control. Somehow that ended up being an "RS2" spec and spread to other RS models with optional air conditioning.

 

Didn't someone post an auction pic of that RS having been in an accident and hence why it has E3 kit and not Evo 2?

I havent heard of an rs2 other than the 6.5s either, makes sense though EvoOne, I can see how that would of started it,
Be interesting what gearbox is in it
I did see an e3 rs shell for sale in qld not to long ago,

No that was a different car altogether. That was a car in Sydney.

Thanks for the clarification. 

 

Maybe being an RS, it came in as someones potential rally car (ie rally rego) and then underwent the "rebuild" rego route?

I did. 16 years ago when I bought my car. But, perhaps in that time things have changed. I have been out of the Evo market for a while! :D

I think you have misunderstood what he means by "rebuild" route.
He isnt dumb..or new to the scene I can assure you of that..he knows the tricks and scams many have used in the past mate.

On a serious note, so long as it has been repaired properly, I guess it doesn't matter. 

 

Rowan Atikinson's McLaren F1 was nearly totalled, but that didn't stop people from bidding on it at auction! :D
