you can raise the guards and bonnet up, washers under top screws on guards and under hinge on bonet(you can get about 15mm) also you can cut the brace off where it hits the cover or take cover off.

i fitted the original proton mount inplace upside down to get the engine to sit in the engine bay nice and level but couldnt go any lower due to driveshaft getting close to lower suspention, i raised guards/bonet to give timing cover room.

Yeah thats something we've discussed heaps on evocoupe.net forum. You can either:

1. Remove the top timing cover (but unsafe and will attract a defect notice)
2. Carefully remove/cut out the small brace from underneath the bonnet that fouls on the timing cover and repaint the underneath so it doesnt look like its missing.
3. Raise the back of the bonnet to clear as a temporary measure like what EVOCPE has done.
4. Custom make a bonnet to suit

Does raising the guards affect the bonnet latch at all? How much difference in engine position is there when you turn the engine mount around cause it might play effect in the driveshaft angle and cause them to break under a bit of power?

i sloted the holes on bonet catch to raise it up to meet the new bonet position. when you raise the bonet and guards they keep the std look and bonet doesnt look raised. and with the engine mount i used the stock proton one unside down to get the engine to sit in the right position in car(driveshafts have been fine for the last 4 years while engine has been in there). :)

i got techsport to get a 15mm piece of tubing and get longer bolts to go through the spacer and into the bonnet.

only problem is the the coners of the bonnet near the a-frame meets the fender rubs against the piece of plastic at the base of the windscreen.

oh and u get peoples hand prints trying to close ur bonnet all the time.

I cut mine out and then had a new bit of flat steel welded in and painted.

Worked a treat.

Also raised up the rubber stops at the front.

are you using evo engine mounts? as far as im aware it should clear with evo engine mounts. otherwise most people just raise the bonnet slightly with a few washers.
