Hi all. I've collected a few different ECU pinout drawings and wiring codes and combined the best descriptions into one. A couple were sourced from forums, one was a 3-page scan of a Mitsubishi document, and a couple were sourced from cross referencing to the 4G93 diagrams to see if the pinout had the same use or a better description. Nearly all of the info when put side between each of them matched up or made better sense which helped confirm each pinout. Basically I was comparing and confirming each pinout and entered the data into an excel spreadsheet (I sort of copied a layout someone did a while ago which I thought was a good idea but I added better descriptions to it).

Cool thanks mate, from that site have since discovered these:
Pin 3 = RADIATOR FAN RELAY (A/C LOW)
Pin 16 = RADIATOR FAN RELAY (A/C HIGH)
Pin 41 = NEGATIVE TRIGGER FOR TURBO SPOOL ICON IN EVO 1/ GSR GAUGES CLUSTERS
Keep 'em coming boys 8)

Another source that might have the information, is somebody that has the Autronic Evo Plug-In ecu manual. I remember seeing the pinout diagrams at my tuners a few weeks ago. Unfortunately I dont have a copy
I've also heard the E4 ecu pinouts are similar to E3. Not sure how true it is. But i know to install an Autronic for an E1-3, you can use their E4 designated model plug-in with a few plug changes.

Liberoz link is for a later model EVO which has 4 x ECU plugs, not 3 like in the GSR/EVO I-III. However some of the items that are located in the same pinout position add to a better description of the same pinout on the EVO I-III so I'll update the ECU drawing again i.e. Ignition signal amplifier A (transister) = now called Ignition Power Transister/Amplifier A for cyclinders 1 & 4
The other little pic above from Richard shows the wires you need to splice to when wiring in an Apexi AVC-R into a CC GSR/EVO/Libero

Does anyone know the differences between the evo 1-3 ecu wiring and the Aus Spec GSR ecu? Been considering making up my own loom for the climate control.....

Anyone doing any serious work regarding these ECU pinouts (engine converions, different computers, rewiring etc) also needs to know the pinouts of the main relay. It is called the "MFI Relay". It has 2 relays in it, one controling the fuel pump. The other sends power to the sensors, injector resistor, and the ECU. It is important to see a wiring diagram to see how the relay interacts with the ECU, pinouts are not always enough.
On some Mitsubishis, the fuel pump side of the relay is momentarialy powered by the starter signal while cranking. On the Evo I,II,III the starter signal is sent to the ECU. The ECU then decides when to activate the fuel pump relay (and it does this while cranking).
Not all Mitsubishi MFI relays are wired the same. The Evo I is a 8 pin connector and these are the pinouts.
MFI Relay:
1. to fuel pump Black/blue
2. sensor power Red
3. Main power to ECU, pins 12 & 25 on ECU
4. 12V power Black/yellow
5. fuel pump signal, from ECU pin 8
6. power signal, from ECU pin 38
7. Ignition and also pin 62 on ECU
8. 12V power Black/yellow

Can you list the corresponding colours on the MFI (engine control relay) plug for us please?
I've never had any issues with incompatible wiring of relays doing 4G93T/4G63T conversions to GLXi's or GSR's but it would be good to have the pinouts as reference. I've even put Proton Gti/M21 engines into GLXi's using the Proton ECU and engine loom and just used their twin relay setups which was virtually plug and play as well. Pretty easy to convert across the board if you get the corresponding relay with the engine loom. Gotta love Mitsus

I just put up some colours there. Where the ECU pin is listed, it is the same wire and colour as at the ECU, (or MFI as Mitsubishi call it).

I don't know if anyone did this here but it seams like great info.
finally got my finger out and done the pin swaps for the evo 8(260) ecu and the USDM evo 8 ecu into an evo 1 2 or 3.if your afraid of wiring DO NOT attempt this you have been warned
i will add pics later on.
for this conversion you will need;
OBD connector(get one from any 96+ mitsi at a breakers)
12 pin ECU plug
some tools(socket set,terminal remover,precision screwdriver set)
PLEASE READ THE NOTE BELOW!!!!
NOTE evo 3 plug no 51-72 becomes 71-92 when converted to 8 260 ecu
please use ecu pinouts for both
i accept no responsibility for fried ecus or cars.
wiring changes are FROM e3 to 8 260
remove pins 3+16 (rad fans)+ pin 11 (Fan relay)
remove pin 67(idle switch)
remove pin 9 (alarm W/L)
remove pin 34(octane adj)
pin 40(wastegate sol)to pin 11
pin 8(fuel pump relay)to pin 22
pin 71(ground) join with wire at pin 26(ground)
pin 33(fuel press sol)to pin 3
pin 22(A/C comp relay)join with wire at pin 8(a/c comp relay)
add pin and wire to pin 79(flash wire)
pins 3+16(rad fans)to wire at pin 32
pin 11(fan relay) to pin 8(ac comp relay)
Next is the obd2 wiring.put it in an accessable place like next to the ecu
OBD2 socket wiring
Wiring FROM the OBD socket to the ecu loom
pins 4+5(ground)I used ground at pin 13
pin 7 (diagnostics) to pin 62
pin 16(+12v)i used pin 12(12v switched supply)

the 8 260(EDM) and the 8 (USDM) have the 4 plug slots of which the early evo plugs will clip into.also its worth to note that this conversion can apply to evo 5+6 ecu swaps into an early.wiring is slightly different but still as easy.

Great Posts! So do these pin swaps refer to Evo 8 ECU's only? Or will the same apply to Evo 7 etc?
Also in regards to the E8 ECU's, its the JDM8 ECU's that cannot be reflashed, is that right?
