but has less wall thickness in the bore walls

Keep in mind that they have been cast with a larger bore size therefor the wall thickness is actually the same as a 2.0L

There are a few things that don't line up / bolt on but they can be overcome with some good engineering

Some progress pics of the engine being built.

Some delays have slowed the build down but it is pretty much finished!

Looking good Harry.

Good job on fixing that issue, some very careful sand stone hand grinding on the flywheel sorted out the problem hey?

hey harry, awsome work! your evo is so close to being completed, and no doubt will be a monster on the road!

Did you reco your gearbox or just paint it up? it looks tuff as in matte black; i might have to steal your idea :).
Why didn't you bolt up the box to the engine and drop it in all at once? would have been easier and saved you heaps of time.

oh an the rocker cover looks pimpin ;)!

Cheers

Stuff that!

Im never pulling the engine and gearbox out at once, ever again....Even with 2 people! Need 3 JUST to make sure the weight is distributed so the gearbox angles down when it goes in/out.

One at the time for me from now on!:)
