when i was running the 1.8l i tried everything to stop the lifter noise best thing and the only thing that really worked in my car was ( not that i recomend it) castrol magnatech 10w 40 and STP engine treatment can get it from repco and supercheap its cheap worked for about 3000kms and it slowly came back after that my lifters where shocking.

Did you try ProMa MBL8?

Has anyone had a CF roof installed? I was talking to a WRX racer the other day and he was saying they are all the rage now...has anyone heard of this in OZ, would be a good way to solve rusting roofs...it's a whole skin replacement.

I've seen a wrecker get a rear window out of a HJ by just pushing it out with his feet... also, when I used to own a HJ, my dad re-sealed the windscreen, and of course it had to be unsealed and moved forward a little.. didn't crack though. Really I think it is a ploy to sell you a new windscreen, they get it in in the factory by hand, should come out just as easily.

The guy was just saying that it was the only way it was going to cost a bit extra. Not that it would. I can get a new windscreen installed drive in drive out for $140 anyway.

Another common prob is the window regulators Ecspecially the drivers side fail on all models 1.8L GSR and EVO1-3 :(
As do the electric window control box on the drivers side as theyre crappy plastic lugs......have seen many glued up !

Basically most faults have been covered as theyre both great platforms if the car has been looked after.

Lastly red always fades as turns to pink in no time !

youd be wasting your time.

the only fix is to get a new roof and roof supports, otherwise if you do what youve said above, it will just keep on coming back.

You can do it if you remove the inner roof lining, cut the supports and bend them down. Clean it all out and put in new silastic.
