just an update! head is on and torqued down!

cams and stuff being fitted tomorrow and that will be the engine finished, just the manifolds to fit, and bolt the turbo on,

then just finished the gearbox and i can start to put back in the car!

going to do the cage after it is all running. (save time)

Brakes are all done now too.

Hey Tim do you know where i can or if I can get new ball joint rubber grease covers? The joints are fine just the boot is split.

How much time do you spend in a parking lot with your performance car? If you do a lot of parking lot driving, and hang out in parking lots, chances are you are a ricer, go home and read import tuner. If you’re complaining about noise you should not be modifying your car. You should also consider no longer being a man, please hand in your genitals at the door.

Craig is the dude from Autobarn? ( I think he still has my bodgy incar valve spring removal tool)

Yes the cams and everything is on and IN! tring to locate a Gates "RACE" timing belt at a reasonable price.

gearbox nearly done! just modified the cam cover (welded up the rear breather, and made a large side breather - will be painting it tomorrow)

It is coming together rather nicely, still might not be 100% for the 12th

the car will definatly Not be ready! just fitted my exhaust manifold today (had to modify it a bit to fit correctly) and the turbo is WAY too BIG! the mani needs to be about 1 inch wider to stop the turbo exhaust housing from hitting the block.

So I will be making my own (more time) and I get my MIG a bit sooner :)

makes me wonder if the turbonetics manifold would fit too as it looks like it puts the turbo in the same position

So i think it would be a lot safer to build one!

It's all hush hush but I just bought a T167R gates race belt for $180 and that included the overnight freight, and GST!

and I think they made $20 on the belt too! Shows how much mark up there is in performance stuff!

No I can not get anymore and No names mentioned, And is Isn't hot!

Troy

Going to buy a UNIMIG 250 MIG now so i can finish this damb car!

but I have to fit the motor so I can get the clearences correct for the radiator.

i don't think a wanky poofy blue tosser belt helps with me, i think the valves bend before the belt needs changing...

I just figure I/ve spent probably 8 gorillas now and a pretty blue belt might help keep those gorillas in a cage! not in a sump.

got my last bearing for the box today too . So box being reassembled tomorrow looks like it is coming together.

O I have lost my throttle body. Thats got to suck! (my big one not the EVO one)

Good lad Troy, 1 week to go now !
Mine goes in this morning to get the cat changed and a new front pipe made. That should free the exhaust up a bit

Gearbox finished - Motor finished

just have to fit,- then make the exhaust manifold, dump pipe, new intercooling pipes, turbo/air filter pipe, new top tank of the radiator(I just dont like it)

rewire the new throttle body, throttle sensor and idle control valve. and I'm sure there are a dozen other things I'll find in the engine bay I didn't acount for.

I'll be happy when I see the motor sitting in the engine bay bolted in!

Well my first run was a bit of a disappointment...
14.2 @ 104.63
That was with me having to wait till the revs dropped down to about 4000 to change into second and with the clutch slipping in third under boost.
Bloody timer wasn't working for the second run but I looked at my speedo going through the traps and it was right around 180Km/h which is about 111mph.
It *should* be good for a 12 once it is sorted and I can play with the tune a bit.

I will have to get a rebuild on the box and a new clutch and see if the times can be bettered :)

Posted pics on this forum in the general area.

Tim i think a new clutch and you'd be fine. By the way, mrs still loves your engine bay, but it's not as "pretty" as the purple rocker cover in mohommad's (apologise for spelling?) engine bay.
Glorified boost junkie. If at first you don't suceed, drink till you forget you tried.
