Pics are of the spigot, clutch, spigot bearing, engine bay partly finished and some cam gear insurance. Yes they are steel! and a wanky blue belt.

Have you tried to fit the gearbox yet? I imagine that unless you have more room than you do in a vr4, then getting the end of the input shaft into the bearing in the flywheel is going to be a real beeeeetch (unless you can remove your drivers side chassis rail for easy access).
Oh, happy birthday day Marek. Don't worry. You'll stilll be young, dumb and full of..... for quite a few years yet (unlike some of us).

pull the cams out and measure the heights of the valves, see if they are the same? (ie: bent valves) but if the rollers have come off there is a good chance that you have bent something!
Troy
i know the valves are bent, no point me denying it, no big deal, should only take a day to fix when all the parts arrive

might of been a bit of over REV there me thinks! (if your cams are std)
Almost bought an EIII with the same problem, I accounted for pretty much a complete head rebuild and 2 pistons.
worst case. well not really ... worst case is the whole motor is lunched!
didn't end up buying it.

what i think has happened, is when the valves have bent and got stuck down the oil pump has stopped at the same time so it hasn't pumped oil into the lifters to keep the rocker arms on, so the have fallen off. it makes sense in my head anyway.

Good luck with fixing it, and let me know if you need any help.

i think the valves are about $ 18 each and $27 for the inlets each : cant really remember it was a tragic moment for me, I was very embarassed and they even took pictures

Anyway, my car trailer has been vr4 proof tested now so next time, we'll be able to get it all the way home, not just down to the bottom of the hill.

The only thing I can see that will go wrong is the box will break!
I certainly don't think it was the tool that cause your greef as It has been used in 2 cars now and had no problems. But that is cool if you don't want to us it.

How much time do you spend in a parking lot with your performance car? If you do a lot of parking lot driving, and hang out in parking lots, chances are you are a ricer, go home and read import tuner. If you’re complaining about noise you should not be modifying your car. You should also consider no longer being a man, please hand in your genitals at the door.

i don't think it is your tool that had anything to do with it mate, just that when the head is off there wont be anything to hold the valves in place to get the springs etc off.
I think that the explanation that you have in your head for the rockers coming off is perfectly sound Craig. I would say that is pretty much exactly what happened.

would love a hand with it tim when the new lifters arrive, going to get enginbldr to send me another set, unless someone has 16 lifters laying around...
