How much time do you spend in a parking lot with your performance car? If you do a lot of parking lot driving, and hang out in parking lots, chances are you are a ricer, go home and read import tuner. If you’re complaining about noise you should not be modifying your car. You should also consider no longer being a man, please hand in your genitals at the door.

we think that the main cause was the stubby shaft for the balance shaft eliminator, as it wasn't a genuine part it didn't have an oil gallery, so it kind of welded itself into the oil pump, which in turn locked up the other side of the oil pump...when this happened the crank is still turning at something like 3000 times per minute so when the gear on the oil pump stopped the belt wanted to keep going and the nut ripped straight off the end of the oil pump get and the gear came off...bloody strong timing belt...so the parts to be replaced thus far are
1. timing belt
2. valves (in and ex)
3. valve guides
4. oil pump
5. stubby shaft
6. head gasket
7. valve stem seals
8. transfer case seals
9. front cover
10. oil filter housing

i'm sure there will be more, but i don't want to have to look at that yet

I dont quite understand? balance shaft eliminator kit is pretty much a welch plug and a round 15mm wide ring! I just remachined and completly remade all new brass bushes for the oil pump.

Is an eliminator kit different for an EVO to a VR4?

You better show some pics! coz I'm confused.

O I don't have a balance shaft belt anymore neither. just a bolt where the gear used to be.

I know some people machine the lobes off the rear shaft so the back of the oil pump is supported.

O .. O I think I might of worked out what may of happend. (like what you said)

by belt you are talking about the timing belt (cam belt)

O I put money that the shaft has worn into the actual housing of the pump, when it does this the shaft (pump) is cockeyed and isn't at 90 deg to the pump body. Which means the gear on the back of the pump that moves the oil can wear into the housing of the pump. that could bring things to a nasty holt!

I bet when you pull down the pump you will see signs of the gear rubbing on the housing inside the pump!

There are no actual bushes in there! just shaft on the alloy body
This is what I just rebuilt and made complete brass bushes, we milled out the housing and made and fitted bushes and machined the shafts to suit.

I think Meek sell new oil pumps anyway so you should be right there!

guys it already had a wanky blue belt on...sorry to dissapoint rob...mine was one of the first to get the wanky blue belt, again sorry to dissapoint...i think it was because of the belt that the oil pump gear ripped off the nut, if it was a normal belt it would have just ripped the teeth off. all the parts except for the lifters and valve guides are here, just waiting on those to finish the head off and whack it all back together.

Rob - what is it with you and wanky blue belts, are you green with envy?
are you poor and can not afford one? (I'm sure the guys here would all throw in and buy one for you)

Did you have a bad expierence as a child with a Blue Belt (angry parent with bad fashion sense!)

or do the wanky blue belts represent the dark side and were put on earth by Satan himself to draw the souls of unsuspecting 4G63 owners to the demise, and become one of the tormented souls of hell?

or you just don't like the colour blue and you would have one if only they made them in green or fuchsia?

I would be the first to throw in $20 bucks for a "WANKY BLUE BELT" for you Rob! any one else willing to help this poor man get his lifes dream to own one of these exclusive items?

BTW i can get one for $187.00 so it will only take a few of us to achieve this very good cause!

I would take a day off work to help you install it too..

F%^k i'm a good Bloke! < opps sware word :edited:
