Team4G | Dyno Day @ Springy Motors | 28-6-08 | Results Pg11|

Posted 28 June 2008 - 12:08 PM
We had 25 cars on the dyno in total and all left unbroken!!
A few cooler pipe issues and sparkplugs *cough* harry but apart from that, all went very smoothly!
AWARDS went out to:
Highest KW N/A - Evan in his Nissan 350Z with only intake and exhaust modifications which made a respectable 181.7kw's at the rear treads. Coming up second was Millai in his Mercedes E500 (stock standard).
Highest KW Forced Induction went out to Kevin in his Nissan R32 GTR which screamed out 291.6 kw's at all 4's and when switched to RWD mode, it just managed to break the 300 kw mark.
Peoples Choice went to Billy in his Nissan Skyline R32 GTS-4. Respect went to the RB20 with only a bigger turbo, stock internals, exhaust, intercooler and no tuning making 205.4 kw's.
Best Overall went to FQSTI which in the crowds opinion deserved the win due to the big 2.5L motor, garrett huffer and the lumpy boxer sound. It backed up its looks with 265.1 kw's. Comming in second was Chanta in his S14 which had the looks and a T67 equipped SR20 making 222.5kw's.
The Wooden Spoon went to Johnny in the RED 12A RX7. This made a whopping 80.1 kw's. Apologies to Richard with the win just out of reach with his 86.5kw's in his Lancer GSR.
Congrats to Darren from AFAS with his little Lancer GSR, 1.8L 4g93 making 212.6 kw's, its been a long time comming!. Other outstanding participants include Harry in his EVO, FQ400 & Anytym WRX all breaking the 200kw mark.
Congrats to the raffle winners, hopefully you will make good use of the 2 x $50.00 vouchers and the 1 x $100.00 voucher.
As for my VR4, it almost failed to make it on the dyno with the Davies Craig Electric water pump splitting apart this morning (great timing). We had plans to tune it before the dyno day but as we quickly ran out of time we decided to replace the pump and run it as it was, with only the run in tune. With some ice in the water box, it made a smooth 330 kw's at all 4 wheels. We planned on adding some timing and boost but the day just came too soon!. Hopefully next time it'll do better!
The results are as follows (in the order of the day):
FQ400 - Mitsi Lancer EVO 8 - 208.2kw
Gooch - Mitsi Legnum VR-4 - 103.1kw
- Mitsi Lancer GSR 1.8 jspec - 150.5kw
Richard - Mitsi Lancer GSR 1.8 - 86.5kw
Dale - HZ Prem - 160.4kw
Josh - Suby Liberty RS - 114.8kw
Chanta - Nissan 200sx S14 - 222.5kw
Peter - Nissan Pulsar GTiR - 177.2kw
Billy - Nissan Skyline R32 GTS4 - 205.4kw
Chris - Suby WRX STi - 168.1kw
Baz - Mitsi Galant VR4 E39A - 330.9kw
- Suby WRX STi - 162.7kw
Daz AFAS - Mitsi Lancer GSR 1.8L - 212.6kw
Evan - Nissan 350Z - 181.7kw
MZA - Mercedes E500 - 175.5kw
Luke - Nissan Gazelle - 227.9kw
Kirby - Honda S2000 - 123.3kw
FQSTI - Suby WRX STI - 265.1kw
Kevin - Nissan Skyline GTR R32 - 291.6kw
S15ETA - Mitsu Lancer EVO6 - 207.3kw
Josh - Nissan 180SX - 152.1kw
Johnny - Mazda RX7 12A - 80.1kw
Anytym - Suby WRX - 252.8kw
Springy Motors LPG CAR - 30.9kw
Sorry if your names are blank, I'll add them in once i find the sheet. All names are off the top of my head so if they are incorrect, let me know.
The Video will be done professionally and should be top quality. I will keep you guys posted on it.
Massive thanks to Springy Motors for allowing this day to happen! They spent months getting the dyno room ready which most of you guys would agree is a very nice setup.
Time for some rest!!
Note: The Dyno @ Springy Motors (based on what participants have informed us) reads about 20kw's lower than other dyno dynamics dyno's on an average. I'm confident to say that it is not a high reading dyno.
Once again, it was a good day! Until the next one!!!

Def gotta catch up - the last time I saw you was when you were driving the 'Borg over the WestGate and I was in the SV6 - wouldn't have had a hope in hell of keeping up with you  Hopefully the Coupe will hold it's own  (when it's running again  )

Admins can we change Baz name to TEAM4G Event co-ordinator extrondinaire! he seems to do a great job it.
Good to catch up with you all again left early cause of the footy (go the blues!). But had a gander at some of the car porn on show and was very impressed.
This was my first dyno day and was told never to go to one as your car will never come back the same. But glad as hell to say I will certainly go to another.
I found as a benchmark the Legnum made 103awkw which is great for bog stock and was running very very rich which will be tuned out.
Thanks again Baz and Springy for a great day/morning!

Hopefully when mine's back on the road it'll have my new Enkei rims on it too! They're not Tarmacs but I reckon they suit the shape and colour of my car better. Got confirmation they made it on the boat and should be here in a couple of weeks
