WTB: VR4 head or a complete VR4 engine

Hi guys,

Looks like the head on my 88 VR4 has gone, it's blowing steam from my exaust, my mechanic is having a look at it tomorrow and going to access the damage.

I've got a 88 Galant VR4 JSpec, wondering if anyone knows where I could get a head for this engine? Or even a whole engine? I would really appreciate if someone gets back to me asap.

that's stuffed, nah it's not that bad, well the smoke anyway. It's just that the mechanic flushed the radiator fluid and put in new coolant, after that it started overheating after about 20 mins. It looks like the last mechanic used some additive in the radiator to seal the head gaskets? i did notice a bit of extra smoke coming out of the exaust, but the mechanic informed me that there must be a crack in the head as it's actually steam.. He's going to pull out the head tomorrow and inspect the damage and see if it can be re-build.. This car is costing me heaps... :(

Thanks Guys, looks like there's no cracks in the head (mechanic couldn't spot any and getting it acid dipped and having another look). Tomorrow I'll find out if we can rebuild or need a replacement one. Thanks guys for the responces, I'll keep you posted.
