Ok guys looking for a bit of inspiration here. Not that I have the funds to make this happen quickly but would like to get the ball rolling.
CURRENT STATE: Car is sitting, with a blown head gasket (possible warped head) and missing various stock parts. Paint is faded and the suspension needs a fair bit of re-coing.
THE DREAM: To have it run bout 200+kw @ all four again but with more drivabilty, not to be a daily but close to it.

Where do I start keeping in mind I will need to check for roof rust.

Any idea's appreciated.

Thanks

Alex

I would start with getting it running, change all suspension components with good gear/nolathane, coil overs etc. and just go with a cut n polish for the paint.. see how it comes up. Once all running and your happy with its running state. Then start on the body, clean it up etc.

Will this sort of be your daily driver, or , WILL be your daily? How many cars do you have?

If the head gasket is pooooped and head possibly warped, depending on your funding state. I would pull the motor and forge it. Atleast you know that it will handle alot more than your 200kw you are aiming for.

While engine is out. you could in theory fit all your sus and send the shell away to get any rust taken care of and car resprayed, that way. everything is getting done at once.. When engine has been done, it can be dropped in and car is all good to go (Thats if you are not short on funds) :)

Good luck

After getting CPTVR4's vr4 back on the road, purchasing MADVR4 and getting that back on the road and getting MVR420's VR4 back on the road, I now today started on the EVO.

Removed turbo, radiator and cooler. Half removed the head. Man how easy are the inlet manifolds to remove than the VR4 ones!!!

During the saga of trying to get it to Vicroads Kew, we over-heated it and blew the head gasket. So need to get that sorted, and need to re-install all the good bits, turbs, pump, wolf etc.
Also going to remove the E3 skirts and replace them with the E1 ones.
