Engine bay looks really good mate. Where'd you move your washer bottle too with the coils mounted there? Are you going to make up an intake pipe, or just run a filter on the turbo inlet?

Best of luck getting it up and running!

Does the starter work?
Have you tried direct connecting the starter to the battery?

If it does, the starter is fine.

In this case, check the wire from the starter to the barrel, buzz it out.
Have you got a relay installed in between (alarm)....

Car looks good mate!!!

Very neat!

Yeah ill get a new intake made up, the old one doesnt fit any more because when the new exhaust manifold got made they moved the turbo down a bit. thanks for not telling me. grrr

I got the starter sorted, fired it up last nite, only ran it for about 5 seconds as the alternator belts and crap were slipping like hell. Ill try again today when i get an oil pressure guage hooked up. Whats the go with priming the oil on a 4G63, some say it doesnt even need to be done, others say to pump oil into the oil filter housing ect. What i did was hook up a pump bottle to the oil gallery in the head and push oil in until i saw it come out the lifters, is this ok or should i do it at the filter housing?

Awesome stuff, car looks phenominal!

thanks man.

Got the new wheels on today, i wasnt too keen on them when i ordered them, main reason i decided to go with em was because they were the size i want (17x8) and there arent many options available in 4 stud. But seeing them i nthe flesh ive changed my mind, they look tuff im happy with them

Have you got a broader shot, I always wondered whether these would go on a GSR, how wide is the rubber? What offset are they?

well i woke up this morning hoping yesterday was just a bad dream, unfortunatley it was real. I got the motor fired up and it starts leaking oil out the head gasket   .
To say i was spewing/angry/upset doesnt even come close to how im feeling. Just when i think nothing more can possibly go wrong i get kicked in the balls once again, absolutley gutted :(

What happens next im trying to sort out with JHH at the moment....their saying that this can happen with a copper gasket sometimes.. Im not really going to say any more about it until i speak to them today again.

That's bad news mate. I wouldn't accept that though; sure it can happen with a copper head-gasket, but only if the person doing it stuffs up or doesn't know what they're doing. Unfortunately it seems people who can do copper gaskets properly are few and far between. I had no end of troubles with mine until Mick got a hold of it.

Is your head/deck/both o-ringed and receiver grooved?

the head is o ringed. With the o rings in the head it cant be decked which isnt great i guess.

I tried to seal it from the outside but i doubt thats going to work for too long if at all, so ill let that set and maybe fire it up in the morning and see what happens. Either way it needs to be pulled and redone, i just spoke to JHH and they are going to stand behind their work, its a pain in the arse but what can you do...

hmmm, checked the headstuds and fired it up, seems to be ok now. Posted Image

Put the radiator in,filled it up and everything looks ok. Coolant came up to temp, fan kicked in, all good lol.

Wonder how long the 3 bond will last, i put shitloads in there and let it cure for 36 hours, im amazed it did anything at all. Obviously im going to keep an eye on it and check it religiously, spoke to the engine builder and their happy for me to bring the car back to redo the head at any time if I want or if something happens.

hmm dont think i should be driving it without having the tune checked, i dont have a wideband handy so im not going to risk it. The tune is probably close, the setup is very similar, different cams, intake and exhaust manifold, and a few other things.

well today was a bit of a shit fight but we got the tune done. First had a thermostat that wasnt opening until 92 degrees which is weird as it was working fine before. Then the alternator decided to fail. ANyway we had the tune pretty much done by then so we left it there, made 210kw or so on 13psi 6K revlimit , power was going at a 45 degree angle when it hit the limiter lol Posted Image Ill get a few minor issues fixed and rack up soem kay's, cant wait.
