Alright, so I'm sure there are plenty of generic guides out there on the net, but I was wondering if one was done up here on team4g for the evo 1-3, showing the best firewall route and where/how to hook up the electrical power/ground lines.

Any help/diagrams would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Inside? Not sure what you mean by that exactly. It has a vacuum line which I've connected to the Blow Off Valve line w/ a T. I just need to figure out how or what place is best to bring it through the firewall. It also has a ground/power, which I would assume is basic. I was thinking the best bet would probably be to wire it in to where my Turbo Timer is connected?

it depends if you want it lit up all the time or just lit up when you turn on your lights.

you could pick up ower from your parklights so it comes on when you turn the headlight/parklights on

I'd T it into the fuel pressure regulator vac line, then under the intake manifold around into the firewall where the speedo cable goes through into the dash, then up around the accessories looms and through the crack between the dash and the A-pillar trim.

Did you get that roll cage mounted cup that I showed ya??

What boost gauge do you have exactly? Electronic or mechanical?

Pick up a $20 Mechanical Autometer vac/psi gauge. Is it a bad idea to tap into the BOV line?

The cage mount you mentioned was actualy too small and I'd have to cut out some of the padding to fit it. I found a slick spot to mount the gauge behind the wheel/in front of the cluster.

Can this all be done w/ out having to pull anything from the dash? The cage makes it near impossible to pull the dash out.

Good topic, I was just looking for something to see if I can get an idea before it gets here.

I just bought a Prosport Premium green/white boost gauge (bottom one on the gauge pod in the vid)

So you figure the best place to pass the firewall is where the speedo cable goes?

Have a look under the bonnet at the fire wall, it doesnt take that long to figure out there is only one hole that passes into the cabin, I'm sure you will see it. I would use this one....

As for wiring, if you read the instructions that came with your Autometer guage it says you should't wire it up so the light is on all the time so your best bet would be to wire it into the dimmer circuit, there should be no reason whatsoever that you would need to remove the dash!

There actualy seems to be quite a few places where hoses pass through the firewall, so for someone who's a bit of a beginner this can be very confusing.

As for the Gauge instructions, I have no manual as I bought mine used ;)

Just follow the throttle cable from the t/b and where it goes into the firewall, use that hole

If you can't see the hole they're referring to - pick up a drill and make it :D

+1. If you cant find the gearbox, then perhaps that might be the best bet.

right, so should I just cut another opening where the gearbox line goes in? It looks like it's pretty secure and I wasn't sure if cutting into the rubber a bit would cause more cabin noise or loosen anything up.

For GOD sake use some damm common sence its a wire and should be a small hard plastic vac hose which is a piece of piss to push through the rubber grommet along side the speedo cable.

And please dont ask where this is FFS.

theres no need to cut anything,
theres a massiv hole the size of a golfball on your firewall.
just to the left of center behind your throttle body sorta.
is it really that hard to find??

Seriously but - it's near the clutch cylinder.
