anyone know what oil to put in your tranny with a clutch type LSD and if you use LSD additive, how much?
I'm using Redline Heavy Shock Proof gear oil with 80 ml of Limited slip differential additive.
Put yourself in my position - Buy a car noone has heard of or seen in your area, and try to get help fixing it. I don't mean to be such a n00b but be patient and answer any Q's i have and i can relay that info to others who struggle like me ;)

i mean't i'm running heavy shock proof in the rear with 80 ml of LSD additive. Currently have redline MTL and MT90 mixed with 20 ml of LSD additive. I'm trying to find out a good mixture of fluid so my diff does'nt chatter, i've solved the rear, but the front now takes up the noise.

As for the search function, it ain't worth crap, i get like 10,000 results and nothing relates to what i'm looking for. (at least the first 10 pages)

So if you've came up with a good mixture let me know, PLEASE

Took me all of about 30 seconds to find that link  no the search function is not the greatest, but with a little effort you can find what you are looking for.

You obviously don't know how to use the search function properly.

1) type in "LSD" and "oil"
2) select "search for all terms"
3) search

AS the search fuction works for all of us I'm 1000% positive its the users fault not the search function on the board.
Another Silver Platter answer given.

BY the way we dont mix oils for lsd's over here we buy the correct product first up and just fill it easy,

search on this forum sucks, so I'll help give you info on what I use.

I'm using redline MTL-80. Definitely do not reccomend adding any LSD additive as it will eat up your synchros. Stick with GL-4. GL-5 stuff in the gearbox = no no.

common guys don't be so cruel  Honestly like we discussed before the search function isn't that great, it works but its tough when you want a quick answer to get back and fix your car.

Any admins listening? perhaps a NEWBIE section could be added to the forum, so anyone uncertain of finding a particular topic or wouldn't want to be grilled by the rest of us could place thier questions in there. 8)

Maybe 2 minutes isnt quick enough for you but everyone one on here apart from a couple of you imports have issue's with it.

We are all about helping yourself on here, and shun the Silver Platter answers on Q's: that have been asked a million times and covered in depth with all the answers.

I can't see how the search function on this forum is any different from any other. All you need is a little patience and a little commonsense. I struggle to deal with incompetence at the best of times but the statement below, I feel, is a little harsh.

Maybe it's necessary to put black marks against members (give them a number of chances) who spam due to their sheer laziness. How else will they learn?

Like the above user said, since this forum community is very against car beginners/newbies a "newbie" forum would be very helpful. Hell, if you don't want to answer the question, just don't. Is another thread going to kill you? It's not like this forum has a thousand active members from what I've seen. /flamesuit.

The easiest and fastest way to have the regulars leave a technical forum is to have it overrun with basic questions by people who are either too lazy to FIND the answer, or purely not up to the task of DIY modifications.
The answers are there, if its just the same old stuff being repeated again and again then people WILL leave. I've seen it happen with other forums.

As far as I'm aware this place isn't FOR elementry newbie type mods anyway.

Really, you have? I find it to be quite the opposite. However, in that case... does a newbie-related forum not make sense? Then all of us people who apparently walk over self-inflated egos could make less posts being that scrolling tends to be difficult for you.

Interesting words from someone who gives up a search if it doesn't show up first attempt.

My ego has nothing to do with you being a retard.

Sorry deviantek, but I have to agree with the majority of other people who have voiced their opinions. Most of the questions you ask can be answered via a basic google search :!:

one or two silly questions from time to time is ok, but in your case its one question a day - which is getting rather frustrating.

Maybe a N00b forum is a good idea, we will look into implementing that once our new forum software is installed.

In future can you please have a little bit more patience using the search function, as like it has already been mentioned, all the answers to the questions you are asking have already been covered over and over again.

Dude I classify myself as a first class noob ..but I read through posts and use the search function to find out the answers I am looking for.
Before posting on a topic that has been covered in full detail previously.... the answers you seek are there you just need to search

The guys on here have been more than helpful with all my questions, so saying there is animosity towards beginners is garbage, you just need to start looking through previous threads before starting new ones on already covered topics :P
