Ok ive finally got around to putting up some progress pics of the rebuild.

At the first state round this year we had a bit of a argument with a few big rocks at about 100kph, the net result was a bananna shaped evo :( as a result we decided to reshell the car.

The new body is from the mint Evo 1 that CVAP just pulled apart for us.

Ive had to cut out and plate up a few rust holes in the floor we found once the sound deadening was removed, but othe than that the body is straight as!.

Here are the pics to date..

Arr nothing Like a fresh new shell the work sucks but the result is another new toy back on the road, out with the old and in with the new all the best on the build up.

Agreed, shame it had to come to that. Nice parking beside that post by the way :).

Good luck with the re-build. Dam I'm going to have to get my finger out to keep up with you guys.

cage is pretty much done, just need to add the codrivers seat mounts, and a extra bar in the back, and a vertical bar from the x in the door to the seat mount.

haha just a little.. :P.. I think the major diffrence is we did inverted V's in the rear and roof, and all the rear legs go into the rear towers.

Its pretty well the usual for most modern rally cars..

It s only that clean cos its brand spanking new. give him a few weeks and you wont be able to walk in there.

So once we re-shell the rally car are you going to stop hitting shit with my sister in the car?

Jeez I hope your co-driver is flexible, or do the side intrusion bars just look higher than they really are?

The shed looks a lot better than the flat section of dirt I saw in your back yard when I was there!!

The car is coming along well. Hopefully its smooth sailing and your competeting in no time. Goodluck mate.

haha sorry.. i need that one.. i did have a spare.. but sold it long ago..

Also it is lucky.. Sarah is very flexible.. she has done calisthenics since she was 4. But no the side intrusion isnt that high in the point where you climb in.. ill put some pics with the seats in it up on saturday when i pick the car up.. next thing ive got to sort out is some paint for interior and under the car/engine bay

Also ive been busy on the old car, got the dash out and been working on the loom, which is a bit of a mess..

Posted Image

Also have plated the struttops, front and rear,so they are very strong now..

Posted Image

Next up is to finish seam welding under the car, as well as adding a plating in some key areas. Also got to find some paint for the interior that i like...

ah yeh also put the new seats in the car too.. much nicer than the old velo's
