Velocity Racing Evo3 rebuild
#1

At the first state round this year we had a bit of a argument with a few big rocks at about 100kph, the net result was a bananna shaped evo as a result we decided to reshell the car.
The new body is from the mint Evo 1 that CVAP just pulled apart for us.
Ive had to cut out and plate up a few rust holes in the floor we found once the sound deadening was removed, but othe than that the body is straight as!.
Here are the pics to date..
From this..
To this..
Just after picking up the new shell
The old car ready to be stripped down (in the nice new shed )
I poped into the cage builders (walker chassis) after work today.. here are the progress pics (1 days work)
cage will be done by saturday, so im very excited to get it back, tho there is heaps of work to be done. The aim is to get it back going again for classic Adelaide in November.. but we will see.
More pics to follow
cheers
Lewis

But no the side intrusion isnt that high in the point where you climb in.. ill put some pics with the seats in it up on saturday when i pick the car up.. next thing ive got to sort out is some paint for interior and under the car/engine bay

Also ive been busy on the old car, got the dash out and been working on the loom, which is a bit of a mess..
Also have plated the struttops, front and rear,so they are very strong now..
Next up is to finish seam welding under the car, as well as adding a plating in some key areas. Also got to find some paint for the interior that i like...
ah yeh also put the new seats in the car too.. much nicer than the old velo's
