a bit of an update...
all welding and strengthing is done, was a bit of a pain due to some rust in rear end, but i managed to cut it out and plate it all up, so its as strong if not stronger than before.
ive also put some plates in to strenghen under under the front guard, that is a bit prone to cracking.
I also had to put a plate under where the abs unit sits in the road car, to plug up the big hole, and add some strength
number 1 helper in the bottom of the pic
car all masked up ready to paint inside, also got a little spray booth, it worked pretty well actually
inside before and after paint, the after shots are pretty crappy, ill take some more tomorow when its a bit lighter..
I sprayed the inside with the POR15 rust proof and everything proof paint, its seem bloody good, no priming required, easy to get on, and got good gloss straight from the gun.. very happy.. should be very hard wearing too.. pity its so dear at about $80 per Litre!
other than that i just have to paint the engine bay, and then do under the car. then it can start all going back togeather!
cheers

hey cheers guys.. its getting there. still aiming for it to be done by mid november.
Yeh paint the cage was a bit of a pain, ive missed a few spots, least its just a first coat.. just have to rub it back and ill spray 2nd coat tomorow.
ill be painting under the car with the same stuff, the POR15 rust proof paint., its super hard wearing, so will withstand the sand blasting that the under car gets.

yeh that POR15 stuff is pretty much indestructable man. very very chip resistant. I painted a test panel a while back at work coz i was curious and it took pretty much anything i threw at it once it was fully cured

Love your work!
I helped dismantle that EVO, had a couple of tears in my eyes I could tell you! It was a mint example.

Almost like those documentaries where they show Animal Keepers releasing an animal back into the wild after rehabilitating it in captivity.
Another EVO unleashed into the wild.
