FINALLY
got the car down from Mackay
got to see it up close in real time
for the first time in almost 3 years
WAS FILTHY lol
still looked the part tho
Few paint chips n scratches
General wear n tear i guess
Nothing someone named KILLA cant fix
Saw it for all of 20 min
before it was on its way again
to an undisclosed secret location
for further upgrades
Much thx to that person for helping me out
in a time of need !!!
Looking forward to the coming months
Great to have it back in the family
Have to say it did feel a bit emotional
Even gave it a rinse cleaned it out best i could
with the time i had ... just to let her know
i was back to look after her .
Is there a hotline for this kind of problem
and am i alone
PLANS ... Get it back on the road

Had a bit of bad luck with the forged engine
Have had to go with fixing the original
Mo pulled the head off
Had some gunk sealent shit on the piston
And a piece of paper gasket stuck in there
He stripped the head and is currently getting
Rebuilt with all new guides stem seals valves etc
Plus some porting n polishing work
Hoping to have it back next week
I've been at working away so Mo has been taking care of everything
Running round for me lol
Thx man appreciate it
Still a lot to do

Getting it back after. 3 yrs
I'm willing to stick with it
Especially after all the work my brother put into it with
The body and the paint
It deserves to be finished
And considering I sold it for 9k and bought it back for 4k helps lol
By the time it's back on the road I'll probably break even.
Don't get to say that with cars too often
Be a nice Xmas present that's for sure

What looked to be a bit of throttle body gasket was jammed on an intake valve seat, causing 40% loss on a leak down test. Never seen that before.
I thought it would have caused a backfire on ignition and just burn away. It was already half pulled apart by someone.

I think it wouldnt burn away because there is no compression. Just a persistent miss.
Its good when you have the right troubleshooting gear, you can correctly diagnose and go straight to the problem area

Yeah true, probably most of the fuel+air escaped.
It's just a $30 ebay tester. Pretty shit actually but yeah it did help in this instance, plus you can use the attachment to fill the cylinder with air for doing valve stem seals in the car. Just did it on my RVR. I normally use rope as I was worried the air pressure wouldn't be enough to keep it shut but it worked a treat. Just need to free up the retainers a little first. That euroexport tool is freaking awesome for anyone removing valve springs in the car!
Anyway, I digress.. I cleaned up the block and glad wrapped it... Hoping this rain doesn't cause it to rust. Bad time to have those bonnet vents Jerome haha

$30 is all you need, as long as you look after it.
I made my own leakdown tester 15yrs ago. Cost nothing but time, and it was the bosses time anyway. Haha.
I am getting a fair selection of spark plugs jammed in hoses to accomodate different engines now tho.

He pullled motor apart
Took head off sent it to Yattala Headworkx
Rebuilt ported and polished ... 2k later got it back lol
He's put everything back together
Ive upgraded the cams cam gears springs n retainers etc
Bought his old manifold with ext WG
Got Kinugawa 20g bolted on to it
Driven it twice
Still no rego or rwc
Had to get permit to drive it
Clutch was on it's way out so took it to a mate
Dropped gearbox put new Spec 1 in along with fidanza fly wheel
Decided to clean the box and freshen up engine bay while we were at it
Also got one of the full engine bay bolt kits so replacing all them
1600cc injectors are on their way from US
Ecmlink ecu is here waiting
Once everything's done put back together
Hopefully injectors be here and will have rwc n rego
Ready to tune
Long time coming but getting close now
Still amazed how good condition paint n body is in after I got it back
Love that colour
Watch this space
Just like to thank Mo again for all his work and putting up with me for so long lol
Also Lawrence Thompson for finding the car in Mackay for me
And my mate Brodie for adding the finishing touches and helping me add more RICE FACTOR lol
