FS: Aspec Galant VR4 $9000 ono *PICS*

08 July 2006 - 05:23 AM

Hey everyone

I've finally decided to get rid of the (fairly stock) vr4 and I'm looking at buying a mid 90's model ute. Its just not so good on the bank anymore and it's about time i get serious with my money!

Im chasing $9000, but all offers will be considered. The vehicle is located in Adelaide (northern suburbs) and has approx 155,000 km on the clock. As far as I can tell I am the second owner, and the interior is in fantastic condition. Only issue is the leather on the steering wheel has worn away in parts.

There are a few slight mechanic repairs required (new windscreen from a dirty big crack and new wheel bearings in the back which are about $40 for parts plus half hours labour). There is panel damage on the rear right caused from a recent accident where the car was hit while making a U-turn. It seems to be only panel damage and there has been no damage to the wheel/suspension or light cluster/bumper on the rear.

Other than that, the car is driving well, and is currently at Adelaide Turbo Serices having some repairs and tidying done on it. It comes with a 3" turbo back mild steel custom made exhaust (brought over from a jap spec i used to own) and has never run more than 14psi. A second hand turbo has just been put in it and its in ok condition - some cracking of the exhaust housing. But I was planning to put a big 16g into it, and have just installed the gtpumps high flow evo III manifold. Since I have decided to sell it, i have just got a 'temporary' turbo of sorts in there.

The car drives fantastically, although the exterior could do with some work.

Overall, this is a great car for someone who wants to work on it and make it a nice street machine. I have probably been guilty of not paying enough attention to it and consequently Im selling it - but have no doubt i have loved this car and its still in good nick! Just needs some love.

The upgraded parts on it are:
- GT Pumps Hi-flow Evo III type manifold (BRAND new)
- Custom made 3'" turbo back exhaust
- Half decent stereo (Sony Xplod stuff - 4" in dash, 6x9 parcel shelf and 12" sub)
- Greddy turbo timer
- Dash mounted colour selectable boost gauge
- Koni strength adjustable front shockies
- Bilstein rear shockies
- 17 Speedy rims with Toyo Tranpath tyres rear and some new cheaper tires on the front.

Pictures will follow on monday when I get the car back from the shop. There are quite a few bits and pieces spare, including a boot lid that has been debadged and dewinged that i was going to spray and put on it.

PM or call 0418 540 220 to come and view the car. Weekdays after 5pm and weekends.

Thanks guys
Shannon

WTB REALLY FRIGGIN BADLY: 14b (newish) or 16g turbo

16 June 2006 - 06:26 AM

Hey dudes my 14b is cactus and i need a replacement! If its a 14b you have i would much rather have one that' been reco'd lately otherwise its just not worth it. But i would love a good condition 16g. Willing to spend up to around $400 but that can be discussed!

Thanks guys

PS did i mention it was urgent??!

WTB: 3" Dump pipe for VR4

24 May 2006 - 08:00 AM

Gday

The flange on my exhaust has become warped when it was attached properly (dont ask why - it was a necessary rush job!) So im going to need a new one. I plan on using whatever dump i buy and just joining it to the old system.

The rest of the exhaust is mild steel so im assuming i should keep it the same? If im wrong good because i have more options! lol

Thanks guys

Shannon

Hey Im back!

21 May 2006 - 01:58 AM

Hey everyone. Just got back from 7 weeks away! Couple of car accidents while i was away - by my wife.... still.. gotta love her lol

Had enough of this VR4. Costing me too much money and this was the last straw. Its going to stay the way it is until i pick myself up a late model Evo sometime in the *slightly* distant future. (Insurance under 25 is a killer).

But i'll still be hanging around here! My wife and I are moving to Adeliade in about 2 weeks though so I look forward to seeing everyone down there.

Alrighty catch yas around :)

Need help removing dump pipe

17 March 2006 - 03:49 AM

Hey everyone

I am trying to install a custom 3" turbo back exhaust into my aspec that was on my jspec vr4 before i crashed it - but im having trouble removing the bolts on the exhaust housing of the turbo.

I tried it a while back and thought i was going great guns but the damn bolt snapped and now I'm trying to remove the other 3 without them suffering the same fate!

Anybody have any tips? Anyone done this themselves before? I think the O2 sensor wont be hard to suss out - it should fit straight into the new piping just fine.

So far i have left the car to cool for a few hours (with the help of some water tipped on it too!) and have been periodically spraying the bolts with wd40.

Any help I could get would be great

Thanks fellas

Shannon
