#339743 R32 skyline brakes on Evo - upgrade?

Posted by runuts on 20 December 2017 - 02:21 AM

This looks good! How does it feel?

Pedal feel is great, it’s only 7% difference in volume. The stopping power is significantly improved.

Here’s a diagram I made for wheel fitment.

Nissan Dualis 296mm, redrilled to 4x114.3 and centre bore enlarged 1mm.

No adapter brackets required, just one bolt hole needs to be elongated on the knuckle.

An easier option, almost Direct bolt up is Chevy cobalt SS brembos, I did them on my ralliart Colt, which people generally upgrade to Evo 3 calipers and Rotors.

#335852 Brembos, but keeping 4 stud?

Posted by runuts on 22 February 2017 - 01:47 PM

Custom Wilwood billet superlite 6 piston front and 4 piston rear. Clears enkei Tarmac in 4 stud.
Cost far more than evo brembo, but allows more wheel options. Rear was prob $1500+ more than front

#326048 Aircon stalls the car

Posted by runuts on 25 December 2015 - 09:22 PM

If the vehicle speed signal is cut from the ECU, the car will stall at idle with aircon on. Common on early evos when people remove the speed cut by just cutting/removing the signal wire from the speedo

#321260 Does anyone have viscous LSD coupling for evo 3 ???

Posted by runuts on 20 August 2015 - 09:18 AM

I have both shafts and diff, won't separate though. If you want to buy it all, you'll have a spare diff also. Was going to just put it into a spare box to sell.

Cheers mate. The centre caps on those came with the wheels when I bought them new about 6 or so years ago.

Wheel choice is more the limiting factor with larger brakes on the early evo/gsr.

Especially if you are like me and do not want to run spacers.

I have about 3mm clearance with Wilwood 6 piston calipers(these are there narrow version) without spacers on 13" x 1.1" discs

Also converted rears to 4 piston, with internal drum handbrake setup.

#320285 wtd cc gsr 3.5 ratio gearbox

Posted by runuts on 24 July 2015 - 12:31 PM

I have a few spare boxes. Will check tomorrow. I know for certain I have two rebuilt Evo 3 boxes with all new gears, 4 spider centre diffs and mechanical LSD's, plus one with the Matthias 4th. I think I put together a 3.5 ratio box also. Will check, I could change one of the E3 boxes to 3.5, but doubt anyone would pay for an all new internal box. Would have enough spares to put another together

Then you'd want to change to a 3576 for even greater exhaust efficiency.... Never stops lol

The manifold looks like a work of art.

Cheers mate

Its well below cost, anyone buying it is getting a great bit of gear.

New setup should do the job...when I finally get time to finish it

#198779 gsr/evo 123 intake head light (more pics up pg4)

Hey Trippy
With the catch can, even running the steel wool, you are not going to be able to remove the oil from the air vapour entering the can. To me, it seems a bit counter productive to plumb this air back into the intake.
There are quite a few coalescing filter mediums, that will not cause any pressure build up. I've used them with great success in the past. The one I am using now, I outsourced to Craig as he could get the medium I use for a far more affordable price.
You tend to generate enough pressure in the intake, to remove any pressure build up from the crankcase, providing that filter isnt restrictive.
I understand your concerns though, but it is possible to achieve without any pressure build up.
