Yeah I was thinking about doing this, as in going back to standard air box with aftermarket panel filter. Also makes a aftermarket cooler legal too (VIC laws). I reckon this might be the way to go with the flexi pipe. This is the one that can be stretched and shrunk yes?

This is a very depressing subject. I'm normally quite a positive person but in this topic I'm afraid it is a "david and goliath" type of battle. So much I want to say just to vent my frustration but in the end, my 2cents worth means little to nothing to the authorities. I really don't know how we as enthusiasts will win in this battle?

I've tried doing everything legit before and been more than co-operative with authorities etc but never seems to help. Seems to me, with my experience, alot of cops are on some sort of power trip and really stretch the limits of their authority unfairly on us import drivers, especially.

Most idiotic drivers I've witnessed on the roads have been mostly commo's with chopped rear springs, stockies on back and straight pipes. And what about those wankers at Today Tonight and ACA? twisting the boundaries of truth and completely one eyed and biased stories of us "HOONS" that get broadcasted to corrupt the views of the Australian public. Only showing those stupid greaseballs in west sydney mouthing off at police and doing front wheel burnouts in their pulsars! ... I just don't like being branded and stereotyped as a "HOON" because of a few rate gaining news stories.

Man I miss the old days...so much simpler, when you could drive your jap import without fear or anxiety.

All this been said, I'm not giving up on imports!
