you can still get a box from Hollinger by special order, price is insane

 

there is a ralliart dog box on Brindabella for sale with the mag case and big drive shafts to suit the green hubs

I contacted Holinger regarding the HMLGearbox and other available options for evo 3 

 

This is a reply i got from Holinger's Kilshyth office,   

 

 

Currently we support the old gearboxes that are running.

 

We have been approached by quite a number of people about this gearbox and we are re-considering manufacturing a small batch.  Unfortunately this gearbox has not been produced for quite a number of years and we would have to produce a batch of about 5 -10 off to be worthwhile.

 

It is also a complicated gearbox with many parts and this means that the pricing would be quite high and delivery quite long.

 

Roughly speaking the gearbox will be approx. $28,000 AUD with around 6-8 month delivery from order if we receive enough interest.

 

If this is still something of interest please let us know and we can begin making a small batch of these gearboxes.

 

We have nothing else for the EVO-3. With the engine being back to front it is a bit complicated.

 

These boxes actually sold for $70k in the mid 90’s at Ralliart, so you can see why they’re so expensive! They were only designed to be Full GRP A WRC style things. Not for privateers even then!

I wish it was that simple brian, It was across the face of a tube, about 6 rows from the bottom at the back (nothing to hit it, far enough away from heat etc)

 

It sits in a cradle that is foam mounted and has cable ties holding it in at the top so there is no tension on the radiator as such.

 

Im putting it down to just a shitty core really as I only run a 1.1 bar cap and it doesn't run hot at all (73-75c)

I think brian might be right george , although the radiator was cushioned its possible the harmonics (resonance) maybe have caused the core to wobble which resulted in the failure , if the natural frequency of the core was matched by harmonics it would be a definate cause. of failure.
 
I've seen it happen with aftermarket intake plenums where the runners shear off at the bash plate.

pics of what a dusty old gk sigma that has  been abandon for 8 years, why would you wana see that ???

 

I wana ditch that shell , i cbf repairing  rust , not really that much to repair, I'd rather start with a nice mint low km 1 owner GJ GSR and hack the bastard up 

 

I'm considering buying this , if i  can get for the right price.

Niggling issues George it's to be expected with a freshly built race car, I'm sure you will get it sorted.
 
1.35 with a freshly built car is a massive effort.
 
Now you have 12 months to dial it in.

the posts are 3.9m  meters high and te cross beam bolts the 2 posts together across the top ,  if you have floor space to run the posts and cross beam in line  with the highest point you be ok
