its possible, i have built a few full 3" exhausts which have passed EPA, but there was ample space to put mufflers etc....... in your case you need one HUGE muffler on the rear.. $1650 is not bad so long as everything is included: high flow cat, stainless everything, several mufflers and most important, body hugging exhaust.. you would most likely be paying for the labor involved into making it, tig welding each connection etc takes a long time...

So far out of all the exhaust systems i've looked at the apexi noir has the biggest muffler, ridiculously big.
Well the biggest i have ever seen on a car.
I'm not sure about the piping though because i've not spoke to anyone who has used this exhaust in Australia.
Theres a couple being sold on ebay from the US...

I'd love to find out more information on this system...

good units and made here in Aus.... not as popular as jap brands though.... but they are top quality....

I gave AVO a call on Friday to scope out what exhaust options they had.
They seemed to believe that it's not possible to get a 3 inch exhaust under 90db.
But they could do a straight through 3 inch system with no clipping down of size.
But AVO is pricey 1650 for exhaust and fitment.
But it's Turbo Back so i guess it's not to bad...

Xforce is quite reasonably priced, i'm not sure about the evo on their video.
It makes no sense how they got that 3 inch exhaust down to 87db without reducing the flow through the pipe.
Might have to give Xforce a call on Monday...

The HKS Silent is exactly that. My friend runs a cat-back system on his 9 and is quiet as, when he opens up the throttle it sounds like a quiet jet. (250awkw's).
I'm sure HKS do use 2.75" systems. (Well my Hi-power is on my TME).

What db reading is your HKS high power silent making at idle???
