Still the same gearbox

Set a new quarter mile time.
8.95@248kmh with just 2.5bar boost because broken intercooler.
Gearbox is still the same without failures at the gears.

The weld works are all ready and its time to paint the cage

 

 

 

 

Build in the rear the battery bracket and 20l Fueltank,have made no pics about that.

and also build the complete rear chassie covers and wheel tubs from aluminium

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

now ist enough room for big tyres :-P

 

in the next days i build the front ready and also inside the car.

only parts i am waiting fore are the reardiff with the axles and the brake chute.

make finished the selfbuild stronger Transferdiff and build a new stronger Driveshaft from transferdiff to reardiff.

 

 

 

 

Build a Birdcage and some brackets in the front area

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

and made a first testfit for 26x10 :-P

 

 

 

 

 

so the 9" rearaxle are ordered and on the way to me, hope fore some more weld days in the next weeks :-D

 

 

 

 

so i have a lidle bit time and i can show the last 2 months wats going with the colt.

 

have made a weight list from all parts and weight before and after

so some small results:

 

cut the oem doors, before with windows and doorcards 27kg one door

after cut with macrolon windows 11kg one door

 

 

 

door hinges save 4x 140gramm

 

 

 

Have put out the interior,carpets,heater,all electric,servo,some bracets and metal sheets and save some kg with parts what nobody need on quatermile.

 

 

 

 

 

 

cut also the front and take the engine out

 

 

 

 

Engine and Gearbox are still in good condition so i dont need any change for the next saison.

 

have build a new GFK Hood, think for my first own build hood its looks ok :-P

 

befrore 15.8kg, new one 5.9kg

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

the oem front axle bar weight over 16kg

 

 

so its to heavy and i build my own one with cromoly tube,

first step are made a negative...

 

 

 

and build a new one with a weight from 7.2kg

 

 

 

 

fits perfect

Hey guys,long time i have no post in this thread so i have much work in the workshop with my colt and with the evo.

i have do some tests over the year and now i know what i must do for the next year.

I have change the colt to a 100% 1/4mile car and have do in the last 2 months some work on chassie and drivetrain.

Also i have begin to rebuild my old evo 2 for a dayliedriven car, not with that power like the colt but fast enough to beat some fast bikes :-P,pics follow in few weeks in a new evo 2 thread.

 

So i show you the last colt updates.

 

To the end of the 2014 saison i have much problems with my rear driveshafts,after inspected all parts i have see the oem chassie rearbars are bent over 3cm, also the reardiff bars are bent and one have a crack.

The Gearbox is still in good condition after a hard saison, no breaking gears ;-)

im in build for a Boldt-Mechanics Stronger Transferdiff,so i must test it in the next saison.

 

I drive the car no more on street so i have made a radical weight saving.

on street was 1120kg

race mode was 1070kg

after change some bits and cut aut all what i dont need im at 880kg with new full build chromoly cage with NHRA spec.

Have do Frontcut and the rear was also cutted behind the driverseat.

and go to a 9" ford rear end with 4-link.....

 

time to kick some volkswagen in the ass here in germany :-P

2.2bar boost work good 0.6mm. With 3.4bar I use 0.40mm

i am 25 years old and have experience of 7 years with turbo engines and Gearbox build.
beginning with a sierra cosworth 2l turbo AWD tuned to 300hp
second car was a sierra cosworth RWD with 400hp
3th car was a eclipse turbo FWD 400hp
4th car was a evo 2 with first 260hp
than upgreate to 380hp/450hp/600hp/750hp/and at the last 920hp
this year i have build a colt ca4a with my evo2 setup complete swap with AWD and 900hp Engine...
i have a schooling of car mecaniker.i do all works on the car himself,build the engine/gearbox/car and make self the ecu tune.

yes i have runn the 1/4 aut in the 4th gear but i rev in the limiter befor the line
rpm was 9200 and the topspeed at the 1/4mile was 149mph
i use the front and readiff ratio from lancer 1,8gsr
