[Adel] MGEC Mallala Track Day - 19th march

02 March 2006 - 02:25 AM

Mitsubishi GSR/EVO Club - Track Day (Mallala)

Location: Mallala Motorsport Park

Time: Sunday, 19th March 2006.
Entrants: 8am - 9am scrutineering
Public: 8am onwards. First car on tract at 10am.
Finishes at 5pm.

Cost: $90 MGEC member, $100 member of a CAMS club, $110 non members.

This will be your perfect opportunity to test out your brakes, your handling and learn about how to drive your car safely and wildly. There will be no pot holes, no on-coming cars, no pedestrians, no stobie poles and NO COPS!!! So what else can be better?!?! Do yourself a favour and get along to it. You will learn heaps. Even in a slow car.

Track time:
Cars are split into groups of 10 (4 groups available). Each group will consist of cars and drivers of similar ability / speed / lap times. This will reduce the need to overtake and cars travelling too close to each other. Each group will get 12 minutes on the track, and will rotate throughout the day. In total you may get up to 1.5 hours on track!!!

Demo Laps:
hot laps at lunch will be available for $30. You can be strapped into one of 6 cars selected for hot laps. The drivers are experienced track racers, which include 2 professional racing championship winners. This will give you an idea of how to tackle corners, how late you can brake and the experience of Mallala from inside an Evo or a Brute.

Entry Form:

Last entry will be 15th March. $50 late fee applies after that.

Classic Adelaide Rally - course cars wanted!!

28 October 2005 - 02:22 AM

South Australa.

We are running quite short in course cars for the Classic Adelaide Rally which is on the 16-20th November. The course cars will be driving in the rally (all bitumen) in the touring group. This means it will be at road speed and not some insane speed where you need roll cage, etc. You will also be driving in closed roads!!

What we need:

You and your Magna (preferrably slightly modified to handle twisties through the hills)

We prefer you have a navigator also (MUST NOT SUFFER CARSICKNESS)

Your car:
must be in good condition, good brake pads, good handling package

You:
must be responsible, capable to drive swiftly and safely through the hills. Able to drive on and off in an 8 hour period for 5 days. Must be mature and sensible as you will be responsible for at least 10 people with expensive cars.

Training night is on 10th Nov, which you must attend as you will be taught how to use UHF radio, how to read road books, etc.

To apply:
You must contact me ASAP. Tell me about yourself, experience in driving and your car.

[email protected]
or
0402-298-411

Time and spaces are very limited, so do it asap. This is a once in a lifetime experience, so I urge you not to miss out.
