Time to get rid of that centre diff and vcu. Go locked. A bit more tyre wear but I have been told better to drive even on a circuit....

no way

#331590 Air flow to radiator

Posted by DOUGMO on 14 July 2016 - 09:49 AM

seal between the front bar and the intercooler and then the intercooler and the radiator.

to test the theory you can just use coreflute(which is all i ever had) to see what works best

also under bonnet pressure restricts airflow through the rad so bonnet vents help a heap.

even adding a small lip in front of the stock vents and removing the rain guard (even if just for track) will all help

i didnt even have a fan on my car at all and water temp was always super low

#323703 How to get 300kw atw

Posted by DOUGMO on 23 October 2015 - 10:54 AM

its the heat as tim said that kills the boxes, thats why they seem to be ok in cars with big power that only drag race,a 280-300+kw on the track doing 2-3+ laps wont last long (as i also found out lol)

#320524 Crimping vs soldering

Posted by DOUGMO on 01 August 2015 - 12:55 PM

well the haltech install manual says if useing crimps always use correct crimping tool and wherever possible solder all connections. take from that what you will

as much as haltech are the authority on wiring thats to cover their arse against people who cant use/or dont have the right crimper and the skills.

no top level race car has solder, and will have service loops, what ever is needed for the job.
