Hi guys I am assuming Aus spec vr4 ecu is obd1?
I can buy an obd1-obd2 adapter cable and a Bluetooth dongle to plug into it which talks to multiple devices including i phone. There are various apps available for logging codes and also using phone for data logging etc. my question is has anyone tried this before???as I think it may be a handy tool

Hey man, in the States they have re-developed MMCD software for use on Android devices only!

It's free too.

One of the best features of that software is the ability to log knock. If you haven't changed or checked your knock sensor recently there's a possibility that you could be a victim of 'phantom knock' where the ECU ******* timing at WOT due to a faulty sensor which is located on the back of the block.

On one of my old VR4's I picked up approximately 20kw atw from simply having a knock sensor working properly!

That's cool thanks for that! How did u connect to the obd port? I have a Mitsi obd1-obd2 adapter cable and an obd2 Bluetooth dongle hoping this will work. Also where did u download the software from?

Just google mmcd android. There is a thread on dsmtalk that tells a bit and facebook links and links to his site.
The adapter is $75 and works for 1g only.
The guy also does chips and other stuff. Pretty cool.

Thanks Jack. Will try this with my adapter erc once it arrives and order their adapter if I need to. Will let you guys know how I get on
