    oh oh... where do i start.. the increased boost gave the extra HP which bent the rod, timing was not touched, AFR's all OK.. HP is dependant on: Engine capacity, compression ratio, RPM, Boost, oxygen content of fuel and air, Tune... did i miss anything... Anyone of these changes horsepower...

    Agree! Rebuilding your 93, make sure you get a new oil pump. Dont run a too heavy grade of oil, I do suspect my last engine failure was due to thicker oil and high rpm caused some cavitation in the oil pump and then failure. Currently using and sticking to Mobil 1 fully synthetic 5W-50

    Well before the line.. but that was with the 14's on (evo 3 drivetrain), no not that fast, rolling diametre is a bit smaller... With the 17's on (last turbo) in 4th crossing the line at 117mph at under 8000rpm Yes I am conservatively aiming for a mid 11 (will be happy with that).

    Rev limit currently set to 8200, My springs are from RPW... cant remember the brand... Current Turbo's compressor map is good for 28psi all the way to 9000rpm... but yeah I did hit the limiter in 4th on the first run for the night

    Best I could get was 12.34 sec and 2.01 60ft. Engine would "cackle and pop" with above 20psi... I think its engine water temperature related (engine not quite upto operating temp), tested this theory on the drive home and it appeared to work... Will be changing to a slightly hotter...

    Open to the Public Its a "Whoop Ass Wednesday" Competitor entry opens at 5pm racing from 6pm cost $45 to race, racing till 10pm. Competition Entry closes at 8pm or 160 cars. If your in the line up to race at 6pm (meaning gone thru scrutineering already) you get an average of 6 races before 9pm...

    I have always tapped the piston and conrod upwards from underneath to separate from the big end, then the cap comes off easy... Maybe the pistons are all the same size (to 0.01 of a mm), measure them. If they are all within 0.01 of a mm, it wont matter what bore they go in. Measure the bores...

    Brian, I am/ was a Fitter Machinist, I have a set of telescopic gauges (up to 150mm I.D) and outside mics up to 50mm (not big enough i know) also a good set of verniers... And some left over plastiguage.. you have my number... sucks when shit goes wrong..

    Ha, good to see "EVLGRL" there (not from this forum) she did a 12.7 that I saw as her first run eva! It certainly was a test n tune night for me, problems galore... no P.B achieved more like a W.B (worst best, lol).. including psteer belt split... I'll be back for more punishment and hopefully...

    NYE is crap over here compared to the east coast, on a public level.. Australia day in perth is comparative to NYE on the east coast, im still not used to it lol... make sure you go to the motorplex, its a fast track, quality.... lots of traction.. Where are the hills? there on the east coast...
