Shannons insure the modification, so in the unfortunate event of an accident in which your exhaust is damaged, they will replace it with a 3" exhaust. The $10 increase is probably to do with the 'overall value' of the insured item.

Really short answer in theory yes it may help. What boost levels are you hitting? And the boost is definitely holding until at your preset level for some time/range, and then increasing. Or is basically free boosting?
