I figured as much, but using a chip with better maps in conjunction with a safc for air/fuel it shouldn't be too bad?
I'm thinking of this as I will be using a standard head free chip and safc's are around $200..
Then at least I can run a modded head when I do build one and buy a ecu later...
Is it possible to run a worked head (porting, 1mm oversided valves, 272 or higher) on my vr4 with no aftermarket ecu.
Only using fuel/air computer like a safc etc and a chipped ecu?
Any sugestions welcome :)
Cheers
Dear members.
We are introducing new RULES for posting in the For Sale sections as of MON 18/2/08
If you are a new member ( less than 30 posts ) you can not post for sale threads here.
Any for sale posts made by a new member with less than 30 posts will be deleted immediately.
Please do not...
I'd also sugest 16-17 psi max for a "standard" vr4 untill you do at minimum a fuel pump.
Altough.. I must admit I free boosted my '88 vr4: evo III turbo/manifold 3" straight through exhaust @ 24psi and she ran with NO complaints for many months haha.
Friend of ewolution, also hail from auckland.
I have a '91 evo 0, thought I'd see what the ausi scene is up to :)
have many parts in the for sale section for vr4/evo 1-3
Cheers!
