I might have to reread it all again, but as I remember it was never 'sorted' when it was making that kind of power - still had heaps of problems with transition and reliability, didn't get raced with the setup, only really got driven to tuners, etc.
I remember reading about this a few years back .. it's a pity it never got sorted, I've seen some really well engineered twin charge cars around that have worked exceptionally well.
The rayglass car looks the good - which shop was it purchased from?
GAS have always ran more consistantly in the old camrydore shell, I hope they get the celica sorted out, as they're making more power than Titan were now.
Looks like a great event down there !
The dump pipe is always a good place to make gains, but the stock ones aren't too bad on the lancers. I made 300hp atw through a ported evo 3 O2 housing. If you're planning on changing your turbo in the future, I probably wouldn't worry about it .. save your money for now, as the stocker is...

I agree
I reckon black wheels look better on white cars with the right design though.
I broke a stock one with 300hp atw .. it was checked before hand too. When we were rebuilding the motor (the next day  ), I considered putting an Eagle crank in it, but after calling around a bunch of workshops who were big on Mitsus, it really sounded like it was a freak occurance rather...
I have heard nothing but good things about Venolias - but there's more from a strength/weight/construction point of view than how quiet they are.
I get next to no blow by and the pistons have shut up by the time the water temp has reached the bottom line on the temp guage (I don't drive the car...
This part mate.
Actually, I had wisecos in my old VL, and in the 4G before this one and they were quiet, I guess I just got unlucky this time around. The piston slap is horrendous until it's got a bit of temp into it.
Rob, I've got a 1mm (copper, doesn't compress) headgasket .. and the deck height isn't standard either.
I don't have any direct experience with the CPs, but I'd avoid wisecos if I were you - we were very careful with the tolerances on my motor, but they're still noisy as all fuck on startup.
Yeah, if it's the car I'm thinking of, it does have a walbro .. it went 300kw atw, but was running out of fuel pretty badly .. he had to pull a bunch of boost out of it in the top end to keep it safe.
Yup, but the static compression ratio and the dynamic compression ratio are two totally different things.
Keep in mind that while the inlet cam is still open and the piston is rising, compression isn't occurring. Dynamic CR is calculated using the volume inside the cylinder once the intake...
