I rang him up coz the first photo he had was an evo 4 engine and then was changed to a vr4 or evo 3 engine. I don't think he knows what the engine is for.

just wondering if it's worth upgrading from standard vr4 manifold to gt pumps manifold?

I'm looking for an evo 3 manifold for my vr4. Hopefully someone might have one just lying around. 16g will be fitted soon so it might be worth upgrading the manifold aswell.

The car didn't over heat, just started it and suddenly hesitated when it was running ok the day before. Hopefully not too much damage on the head.

I got the car towed at mike dale's workshop today, he diagnosed it with a blown head gasket between 1,2 cylinders. hopefully nothing major when he pulls it out.

checked all connections (afm), leads ,cleaned the plugs , all ok. It cant be data logged cause there's no socket for data logging( 88 jspec). Car still starts but engine shakes heaps on idle.. and sound like a two stroke engine. Still haven't done a compression test. Will that more likely to...

could it be the cylinder head gasket?

thanks guys, it a 88 j spec vr4. I've checked the spark plugs, leads, timing, ecu , replaced coils, all ok as far as i know, the only thing i haven't done yet is a compression test, will get or borrow a compression tester today. i cant really think of anything else, just happened overnight...

I started the car this morning and it all started fine but when i pulled off the driveway it just wont accelerate and it feels like it's dying.Very rough idle. I drove it back to the driveway somehow. It was all fine last night when i drove it but all of a sudden this thing just happened...

Idle works fine now thanks to mike dale. Got the clutch which i bought from mattrat fitted as well.. slowly getting there.

0 gauge with 250 amp fusible links at the front and back. anyway, i will drop by at mike dale's shop tomorrow maybe that will resolve all my problems.

yeah, it stalls when i slow down and foot off the gas. it idles between 1000 - 600 rpm, finished relocating the battery at the boot today then i replaced throttle elbow to 2g that i bought from america from one of the forums, i ended up using a pvc 60mm elbow to get to the stock pipe just to see...

stock blow off valve, will check for any loose hoses tomorrow, still stalling today, very annoying, if i can't work it out, will take it to mike dale next week, had a chat with him already regarding future mods, trying to get the car a1 condition first before modding it.
