you will need the chipped ecu to compensate for more air flow etc..

Don't know much when it comes to ECUs and the likes, but I have a unichip; will I still need to chip the ECU Jon? :?

Thanks

no you will not need to chip your ecu as you have a unichip.. however you will need to get a retune on the unichip!

Well the plan is to get RX-7 550cc injectors, a TD05-20G, fuel pump [Walbro perhaps?] and a Magna AFM put on all in one hit, although i'll be getting everything slowly [damn student lifestyle  ] so the tune will be more than needed.

It'll be awesome to feel where all the money's gone when I take it for a spin =D

Thanks for that Jon!

so what would happen if i didnt chip the ecu???? and ran a safc? would that work? how much would it cost to chip and tune the ecu and where can i do it on the gold coast/brisbane area???

we used to run just a 609 afm (same as 055) with 510cc injectors and a stock VR4 ecu all the time in NZ and never had any problems.

though we didnt have any way to measure knock/log either so it was a bit of hack/back yard job.

but it did work, and work very well too.

i wouldnt do it now though because i care a bit more about my motor than i used to

so it will work??? how was the idle and overall performance of it

If I was to put in an 055 AFM with my current config [small 16G, exhaust, unichip] will the power increase/benefits be noticable?
