How does the standard CC Gsr driveline go when coupled up with an Evo motor...are they more or les the same thing or is there a risk of the driveline going to shit from the increased levels of Torque/Hp?

Thanks

Jamie

no issues only differance is the gsr ratio's 3.5 as opposed to 3.9 in the evo
eg. with gsr driveline and ratio doing the 1/4 mile you wont have to change into 5th gear before the end of the line like evo.
Evo gearbox has better shift forks and better syncro's ;)

My GSR has a 2ltr in it with the original gearbox. It has had new bearings put in before I bought it. Feels fine. Car makes around 160kw.

I've got a GSR running gear, coupled with twin plate clutch and 290+ kw atw from a 2l. Seems to be handling it pretty well so far, but if i put slicks on it, i think the transfer would spit first.

Yeah i have done the same, how ever i was told to change the front wheel drives shafts from the wheel to the cv joints and the cv joints to the gearbox. I have got evo ones now. Is this true or are they the same?

Internally GSR gearboxes are 99% identical to Evo 'boxes. Small things like the steel selectors in the Evo 'boxes and a filterscreen which helps keep the oil marginily cleaner. GSR 'boxes USUALLY have the small hub NRBE version with 'paper' synchros which will wear out quicker.

then probably an axle after that

Guessing that my 830nm of torque got the best of it on wed, 3rd gear put my foot down on the mountain and poof! spat it, think it's the centre diff find out this week i guess.

I wonder weather your missing that illusive hidden bolt (thats left over)most noobs cant work out where it goes when reinstalling the gearbox ;) its up above the transfer case and you cant see it from above or below when engine and gearbox is in the car.

I wouldn't quite call myself a noob, i have had and built, a GGSR then boosted it, 2 vr4's, one that run 11s, and now have a 4ged GSR, which again will run 11s atleast. And i do know the illusive bolt you speak of.

A solid twin plate never helps the equation, or that much torque. It was strange but cos i wasn't even abusing it at all. BEH! no point talkin about it, it's coming out for a rebuild and hopefully be back on the road for Compact ATTACK.

Huh? I'm missing no bolts and destroyed no centre diffs myself.

But theres no way a stock centre diff will be up to the abuse of twinplate/slicks launches on a 290kW atw setup.

But of course, you know better than everyone else dont you?

Well if you read my post, it was in 3rd and wasn't on slicks and was on the street. and it's a mechanical LSD not stock GSR

And i never claimed to know better then anyone. So there is no need to carry on like a jerk about it.
