MTQ at archerfield

I've agreed to move on in reguards to this..

As I stated earlier, no one seems to have done hybrid turbo themselves. So my point being, I've done the kinugawa setup and works.

As for anything else such as garrett hybrids, I'll mention again, these I have balanced via MTQ in the past. Again, the concept for me not to balance was a ballsy option, but as instructed to go without (by manufacture). I gave it a go as it was a 1st time last year and works, held track day etc.

well i bought a house over the weekend so project RVR has to wait until i have moved. I have everything but the engine rebuild kit in my garage.
So my mods are as follows:

- TD04-19T upgrade from my 15T with full rebuild kit
- FMIC 450x230x65mm
- HKS Sequential BOV
- S/S Exhaust manifold
- 2.5in intake pipe with pod filter
- HKS adjustable cam gears
- HKS fuel rail
- Tomei Fuel pressure regulator
- In line billet fuel filter with AN6 braided lines
- New clutch
- Rebuild kit for gearbox

Just waiting on engine rebuild kit and i should be good to go. With all these mods will i need a new ecu?? or can i get the current ecu tuned?? or will i need much tuning at all?

Just check if the ecu has an E on the bottom right under all the other numbers, this means it's an eprom ECU and can be tuned.

I don't think you'll have to change anything anyway if you're sticking with std cams, injectors etc. I'd just take it easy on the boost and fuel pressure.

Other members will have better advice for sure when they chime in ;)

yea im not gonna go throwing massive boost into the thing just yet. But cams and injectors are next on the list after ECU upgrade in the near future. The ECU sits in the passenger footwell yea?

well me and the mrs have finally moved into our new house. So within the next couple weeks the engine will come out and the rebuild will begin. The only downside to all this is i have 2 project cars and now owning a house im having to reduce down to 1 project car. As the AW11 is worth a whole lot more than the RVR, after this rebuild is completed ill b selling the RVR and starting the engine rebuild of the AW11. So keep your eyes peeled and your ears open if anyone is chasing an RVR in the coming months.

Hey guys,
Been a bit vacant on here over the past 12 months or so. Been busy with work and buying a house, all the fun stuff. The RVR has been sitting for the past 12 months and now i am going to rebuild the whole thing due to it sitting not started. Ive decided to make it a reliable daily driver and am not gonna wind lots of boost into it, im actually gonna take it camping :) Im still gonna use all the bolt on parts ive already bought. One question thou, are the rebuild kits out of the USA any good?? I can get one landed for about $600 and thats all gaskets, valve guides, water pump, oil pump, rings, pistons, timing belt etc. Like i said im not gonna be thrashing this thing i just want to get it riving again.
Second question, is there anyone on the northside of brisbane that could give me a hand rebuilding it? Ive got a fair idea around engines but never rebuilt one, so any help would be appreciated.

Yea I'm gonna strip it all down before I get the kit. I may not even need it but the car has done 255,xxx km's. Didn't blow any smoke before I took it off the road so who knows it may have had a rebuild?

depends where you go and what you want done, 1mm oversize valves ?, port matching ?, or just a standard rebuild?.......... I payed $600 to get the head checked and port matched/ honed standard valve sizes in canberra  if that helps :p

Yea everything standard, just need the valve stem seals done, valve guides, just a standard rebuild, all stock gear going back in. Is it a good idea to replace valve springs? I guess 255,000km is a lot for springs?
